Control panel not working Samsung refrigerator model rs2533sw. Not cooling.

  • macharelli Aug 22, 2010

I don't have a solution, but a question...I just tried this 8 seconds solution, and I got a "3", Does this mean that I have to fix something? Or, just wait and see how the ref, reacts?

I have a samsung refrigertor rs2555sl and my control panel stopped working after I turned the power off to the house (to install a light fixture elsewhere). There was one green light blinking on the refrigerator temp display.

Hold down the "power freeze" and "power cool" buttons at the same time for at least 8 seconds. This is a self diagnostic program. A number should appear on the refrigerator temp display (1-9)...it will hold for 30 seconds and then the panel should function again.

In my case the number that appeared was "3" which can indicate a multitude of things including a short circuit or power outage (which was it was for me).

Hope this helps!

I just had this same problem when I unplugged my rs2555sl to install a surge protector. The "Hold down the "power freeze" and "power cool" buttons at the same time for at least 8 seconds" diagnostic procedure was the solution. BTW: I bought my rs2555sl in 2003, and except for the ice maker, I haven't had any problems with it (knock on wood). I've had the ice maker service under an Best Buy extended warranty, but I understand that ice makers in side-by-side refrigerators are usually the flakiest parts.

Same issue. The front panel lights were off with only one blinking light working. This was after a heavy storm that caused multiple power outages. Holding down "power freeze" and "power cool" for approximately 10 seconds displayed code "3) after which the fridge started working OK.
Similar to the other comment I have replaced the ice maker twice already and it is still not working properly.

I have a samsung refrigertor RM25KGRS and my control panel stopped working after I turned the power off to the house (to install a light fixture elsewhere). There was blue light blinking on the refrigerator temp display.
Hold down the "freeze" and "Fridge" buttons at the same time for at least 8 seconds and then the panel should function again.
Worked for me Thanks forum guys, and thanks

SAMSUNG RS2534WW CONDENSOR FAN NOT WORKING

Was the motherboard replaced because the temp was too high? May be the condenser fan was at fault all the time. Check you have power at the fan. If you have, replace the fan. If you have not, take a live from the compressor to the fan. This will bypass any hp or fan speed control switch and run the condenser fan with the compressor.

I have a Samsung side by side refrigerator RS2533SW and it stoped cooling both sides. I already tried to reset it. That did not help the fan is kicking on an off. Do you have an Idea. Thanks

check to see if the fan and compressor in the back conme on first. if they do then shut the unit off and remove the back panels inside and thaw out the ocils.

Model rs2533sw panel not reseting after being unplugged

I had the same problem (panel would not start up - just flashed one dash after a power outage).

The solution above: pressing the top two buttons for 12 seconds (Power Freeze and Power Cool buttons) reset the panel and everything is working fine now.

Thank You!

Samsung rs2533sw fridge not cooling

it sounds like the refrigerator evap is frozen up causing the compartment to get too hot. shut the unit off and let it thaw out. then take the screws out of the cover to check the stryrofoam on the back side of the cover to see if theres broken spots on it causing the air to bypass the evap causing it to freeze. Theres two screws behind the light cover and two at the very bottom of the cover and two behind the decorative plugs about 1/2 way

Samsung rs2533sw fridge not cooling

soiunds like the coil on the refrigerator side is iced up.take and open the refrfigerator side and take a blow drier and after removing the 11 screws use the hair drier to slowly melt the icec behind the cover. If you pull too hard and or too soon you'll break the stryofoam ductin that has to be around the coil. then make sure that the drain line is clear reassemble and have a Merry Christmas!
