Sansa m240 - won't download OR delete songs

I have had the Sansa m240 player for over a year and have had no problems with it until recently when all of my 130 + songs got lost for some reason. So after that, i downloaded more songs. Now i am unable to delete any of them or redownload all the songs i lost! I want to delete a few songs on my Sansa m240 but when i click on the icon in My computer, it shows that there is nothing there! yet, when i unplug it, the player shows 31 songs in it. Also, i tried to download more songs onto it but i was unable to do so for some reason and a message came up saying "windows has encountered a problem with the player". HELP!

I just had this problem and I sync'd it with my windows media player 10 and formated it and delted all the corrupted songs and freed up the space. Just format and redownload all the songs you want :)

Deleting unwanted songs

The Sansa M200 series devices do not allow deletion of downloaded content directly from the device. You must connect he device to PC/Mac via USB to delete downloaded content. You will also need to use media software such as Windows Media Player, Rhapsody, iTunes, etc.. to see all of the music content on the player to be able to delete the songs you don't want. (i.e. just viewing the device in Windows Explorer might not show everything that is on he player.)

Deleteing songs

Use Windows Media Player - you must delete them from the computer by selecting the mp3 player - you cannot delete them from the Mp3 player itself.

PROBLEME OF MEMORY.

My Sandisk Sansa m240 lost all the songs and then I could not delete them. I was able to laod up new songs, but there was no spare memory. I was able to fix this issue by re-formating.

Using windows explorer right click on the "Sandisk sansa M240" and click "format".

Now working OK.

Can't delete songs

Go to Windows Media Player under the Sync tab, over on the far left should be the name of the player, click on it and find the name of the song by album title, artist, or whatever, click on the title and click delete and you should be able to delete any song you like without deleting them all
