I have a Sharp AR-287 copier and everytime I make a copy the screen says paper jam and the copy stops. I look to remove a paper jam but there is none. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Is there a sensor bad?
Most copiers that have lcd screens, should you show you where the paper is. sometimes it may take getting down to look under a couple of guide plates. or just roll some of the rollers to get the paper to come out. all it takes a minute piece of paper to be sitting on a sensor for it to throw the paper jam message.
you would have to be a liitle more specific on the location of the jam. most copiers feed from right to left. the paper feeds up from the trays below. like i mentioned in my earlier post, it doesn't take much for the machine to pop a jam message. a little spec of paper could be laying on a sensor. try blowing some air in the area that the screen shows where the jam is.

The screen actually says "a misfeed has occurred"
It does show on the screen where the jam is put when I check that area there is nothing there. If it is a sensor that is bad, does anyone know where it is located?
paper always jams in top feeder of sharp ar-208d
