Error code J18 - Canon DR-9080C Path-Through Scanner

• Yellow image drum motor startup error
• Remedy:
• Reconnect the connector J18 of the yellow drum motor and the connector J120 on the DC controller PCA. Perform the drum-motors component test in the DIAGNOSTICS menu. If the message persists, replace the yellow drum motor.

depending on how the radiator was drained , ( bottom hose off or tank tap) it is possible that the wire to the crank position sensor was disturbed
run the fault codes to check for other possible wiring problems or sensor failure

you mean FIT And actually WORK right. (its TCM shifted, so fooling it will be a problem)
ask suzuki that????

i have the the full parts list on esteem.
so will see if the pn is near same. 1995-2002 is range
1.6L is the G16 engines
the 1.8L is the J18 (and understroked, J20)
the are apples oranges different the latter is chain drive, twin cap.
G16, is belt drive and 1 cam.
it looks like it fits, but the suzuki partnumber fail. for whole trans.
g16 is p/n is ~65g30
j18 IS P/N IS 65g50
THE j18 Has many different parts inside, the valve body and TC clutch, are not the same
the J18 has like 45more HP. so... that can matter big time....
you do know the 2 boxes have 100s of parts
i have the p/n, on each but take me all day to compare 100 agains, 100 more.... and Im not doing it.
on our Vitara's , RWD Trackers, the j20 trans bolts up to the old G16
but the things behind it dont fit. for sure the mt clutch)
on a/t trans the clutch is different and the flex plate.
I'm no FWD expert, id not own one, Im RWD 100% 4wd.
but there a number of great forums that cover trans swaps.

96 is hard to find, as is the extremely rear J18 sports. very hard.

the 89 sidekick has a G16A engine
the esteem uses a J18 or G16B engine.

the G16A parts match G16A parts.
the B engines, have special pistons, fly cut for valve clearance.
mixing A and B parts will not work.
A = 8valve
B = 16valve
the J18 is 1.8L and is twin cam and totally different engine.

why not find a good short block? and build from there?
in the USA (car is rare )but all G16 blocks can befound
from 1989 to 1998, a 10 year span on trackers and sidekicks.
and esteems.

must bet the sport sidekick as all G16 engine sidekicks are cable.

wow no year stated or engine option,,,,, a hard row to hoe.......
the pump dont create spark but all cars cut fuel if there is no spark.
for , fire safety. fix spark first. ignore all other symptoms.
Cranks but does not spark is the #1 symptom.
2nd is no spark, i guess that means at all spark plugs and not one?
what engine do you have,, Esteems dont come one just 1 engine.
so discover that engine, code, like G16 or J18?
The G16 has distributor, the J18 has COP coils x4
apples and oranges different.

So i will answer non specifically.
When you crank, does the tachometer needle move about 300 rpm?
with the scan tool do you see DTC errors as you crank for 5 seconds> release key and look? with key still on>?
P0340s 355s? etc>?
when cranking does the scan tool show RPM? moving up scale?
if car is 96 or newer year, the car has 2 devices that makes spark
one is CMP and the other is CKP. on the G16 engines, it
only needs CMP to make spark ( then ignitor, then coil, the distributor.) did you change you G16 timing belt at 60k miles>?
if not it may not generate spark due to the dizzy timing is way off now.
the J18 engine has no Dizzy (distributor) it has COP.
aka: DIS Distributorless ignition System
The car has CMP on the back side of the left cam.
It can go dead, but the ECU will tell you this fact of you use
as scan tool in the proper way,
the proper way is to crank for 5 seconds, and release key
and look for stored codes. do not turn key off,
until you scan for DTCs live, in memory or pending.
The J18 has 4 COPs check each for spark, not just one.
you can swap the bad ones around , and see if its bad.
post engine size and year, and you'd be amazed at better posts.

Reconnect the connectors J18 for

the fuser motor and J1101 on the

DC controller PCB. Replace any

damaged parts.

2 Replace the fuser drive assembly.

3 Replace the DC controller PCB.

Calibrate the printer after replacing
the DC controller.
