I had switched off the refregerator for half a day . keeped some boiling warer in the fridge and got it to room temprature. In spite of it it is not working..

I turned off my Lemair fridge freezer to defrost it and when I turned it back on the fridge isn't cooling, but the freezer is fine. What do you think the problem is?

Hello Anne;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

Unplugging and plugging your unit back in should not have caused any component failure.

You only have one cooling source and that is your freezer. Your fresh food section is cooled by your freezer. You did not provide a model number, so I can not be specific. There is a air vent that goes from your freezer to your fresh food section. I suspect the vent is blocked with ice. Using a hair dryer, melt the ice in the vent until you can feel cold air coming out.

Hi, My LG Smart Digital firdge has a H "error"??? on the digital display and the fridge has stopped working but the Freezer is ok. If I turn the power on and off the display behaves as normal for a li

not sure about the H code, for all I know it means hot... but my guess is that a vent to the fridge from the freezer is blocked and no air gets to the refrigerator from the freezer... As always or most of the time, doing a defrost should clear ice blocking the vent.. that is the easiest cure and hopefully will fix your problem.

Refrigerator is warm. found ice packed in vents on frig side cleaned them out but now we noticed that the vents in the back of freezer are also packed with frozen ice build up. could this be the reason for...

That ice is the reason that the freezer is working but the refrigerator is not cooling. That ice is
blocking the vent that allows cool air to leave the freezer section andfall down into the refrigerator
section.
The fix is free: defrost the frig - pull the plug, and let that icce melt out of there, clean up the
wet mess, and turn the frig back on - problem solved.
Keep the vent area free of ice (and other blockages, like frozen peas covering over the vent), and
you'll keep the problem from recurring.

I have a kitchenaid, KSRS25RSMS01, refrigerator and the freezer is fine and the fridge is not cooling. I have checked the evaporator and it has normal frost, and the fan is turning fine, but the air coming...

Your frig has the classic symptoms of a frig with a clogged or blocked vent between the
freezer section and the refrigerated section. This clog can occur due to (a) stuff in the freezer blocking the vent, or (b) ice in the freezer blocking the vent, or (c) both of the above.

The way a refrigerator works is it cools the freezer, and the warmest air in the freezer is vented out
to the refrigerator section. If this vent is blocked (and everything else is working), your refrigerator
just became a eye-level small freezer atop a well-insulated section of dangerously warm food.

Freezer is working, refrigerator is not. have temp turned all the way up. it appears to b silent... help

Typically, the fridge gets its cool air from the freezer via a vent. If this vent is blocked, the fridge won't cool. If you don't see any obvious obstructions (e.g. a plastic bag fallen behind the racks) then it's possible the vent has clogged with ice. To melt the ice, simply unplug it for 12-24 hours. Use a cooler to store your perishables.
If this doesn't work, then the vent must be dismantled to determine what's blocking it.

Freezer is working, crispers are cool, fridge is not...55 degrees even at the highest cool temp.

Typically the fridge gets its cool air from the freezer via a vent. There is likely something blocking that vent like ice. Move your food to a cooler and turn off the fridge long enough for the ice to thaw (12-24 hours).
If this does not resolve the problem then dismantling of the vents for cleaning will be required.

Freezer side is working, but frige side isn't cooling?

Probably a defrost problem. I would suspect that the freezer is not as cold as it should be, even though it still freezes ice cream.
It could be air circulation, so make sure you have not packed the freezer or refrigerator too tightly and blocked the cross over vents.

To check if the problem is the defrost system, look in the louvered vents, or around the fan, to see if there is thicker accumulations of frost/ice on the cooling coil.

GE top freezer refrigerator

The air flow vents must be blocked. The refrigerator cools from the freezer through those vents, it does not cool independently. They may be clogged in the case with ice. Turn the fridge off and leave doors open for a few hours to let it thaw and it will probably start working.
