What you are sseing is a convergence problem within the light engine of the set. This is not repairable in teh field other than replacing the light engine part. Since this unit is less than one year old, it should be covered under warranty. From the looks of it, one of the LCD panels has shifted internally. Call for warranty service and indicate that the light engine has a problem. With luck, the service company will show up with the part in hand. Replacement should not take more than an hour or so.

The default Samsung ROM (The front-end for android) is known to have a lot of bugs and instability issues. If your system is still accessible in some way I would recommend backing up your data (Titanium Backup works great) and performing a factory reset. Alternatively, you can install a different, non-samsung ROM that has less stability issues (I recommend CyanogenMod, which has a detailed installation guide on their website www.cyanogenmod.com)

Welcome to FixYa!
Nice choice of phone. You may want to know that Samsung i9003 is a newer version of i9000 therefore it is much better in many ways. The OS for both phones is Android but i9003 comes with Android OS v2.2 (Froyo) while i9000 comes with v2.1 (Eclair). Both phones are compatible with the applications that are available in the Android Market. The same free stuffs from the Android Market is available for both phones!
The Google or Android logo was printed on the i9000's before because during that time, google is heavily promoting their Android OS for phones. As their market grew bigger, not all consumers would want to see the google or android logo visible in their phones. Newer version of the phones included a removal of the logos for a more professional look thereby capturing the professional market, not just the nerdy market.
i9003 is one of the BEST phones out there in terms of durability, functionality and efficiency.
