Pressure washer struggles when trigger is squeezed....

When the trigger is pressed, the engine should kick up to increase speed and thus pressure. There is a problem with either gas flow or the air is blocked (new air filter?), so I would start by cleaning the carb and make sure the small gas port is open (run a pipe cleaner through it).

My Karcher 530M runs ok until I release the trigger, then it will not start again unless I switch and allow the water to run through for about 15 secs before switching on again

Hi Cliff:
My experience is that the pump pressures prevent the engine from starting, so we hold the trigger while starting.
My brother has cut a wedge of wood that he uses to jam the trigger open to bypass the problem. It can get a bit wild if the wand is not secured when the unit is started..

I switch the pressure washer on motor starts pressure builds up motor stops. OK pull the trigger on the lance the moter starts sounds different water pressure low. Release trigger motor still runs.

It isnt very clear your explanation of the problem but what type washer do you have first? It sounds like you have a bad unloader or need a new variable nozzle tip. Can you explain in more clear detail. Thanks

Sound like you have a machine programed on stitch mode, to override the program do the following:

1)Turn off the machine
2) With the machine turned off press the gun trigger.
3) Turn on your machine keep the trigger pressed, hold it for about 3-5 seconds. Depress the trigger and you should be good.

I have a Ryobi RE175. It just stopped working

1. Shut the power off, and disconnect your Ryobi
router. It could be the start/stop switch. So, you
can begin checking the switch contacts using the
multi-tester. Set if at 1 x 10 Ohms. Put the probes
of the tester across the switch terminals. Pressing
the trigger on will move the tester indicator to zero
if your switch is okey. Otherwise, no moverment -
the trigger switch need replacement.
2. Should the trigger switch proved to be okey, Check
the carbon brush of the unit, short carbon brush??
you have to replace it.
