Replacing them requires a lot of soldering and a knowledge of circuit boards.
Is the TV worth saving? is it bright and clear? was it good (when it worked?) ifthe answer to all of these is yes, then you have a few choices. If anyof these are not true, then you should just get a new tv.
Your choices are: Ifyou are good at soldering, then you can attempt to replace the IC'syourself. (with all of the parts handy, it should take 1 hour)
Ifyou aren't good at soldering, then you can have a friend do it for you,or you can have a mechanic fix it. (tell them that its the convergenceIC's that went bad. (pay no more than $200 for the job).
Thesego bad on almost all projection tvs eventually. They overheat and burnout, causing the screen to go in/out of alignment and make wavy lines.
I have a Samsung Tantus HDTV 55in. I am not getting a full screen. The screen alignment is shifted to the right. I am not getting the full picture quality, just partial. Can you help me?
