Dacor Microwave DCM24S cooling fan continues to run

The cooling fan continues to run after I'm done using the microwave. It use to run for a short while and then shut off. I have unplugged and plugged back in and the fan starts running and doesn't shut off

Follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

Interlock switchIf your microwave is turning itself on, the first thing to check is the interlock switch. This is usually the first thing to malfunction that could cause this issue. If the interlock switch is bad then it will need to be replaced.
Main control boardIf your microwave is turning itself on and the interlock switch is still working, the probable cause is the main control board. If the control board is defective it will need to be replaced.

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

This can be caused by slamming the door or by habitually opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

Many times restaurant supply houses can have what you are looking for in terms of hinges. However, when the hinges, seals, megatron tubes go....generally its time to go shopping for a new unit!

My Dacor DMT2420 fan, light and turtable motor run continuously when the door is open. I have unplugged the unit to reset it with no help, another on-line forum expert suggested checking the door switches...

If the cooling fan, light and turntable run continuously when the door is open, but not when it is closed, your secondary interlock (bottom door switch) is shorted (always on).

Even if it's shorted, the actuator button (usually red) will still move up and down when you open and close the door.

It will need a new door switch.

Most likely the bottom door switch. Dacor units are built by Sharp and that switch is a very common problem. You'd either need to check the switch with an ohm meter or remove the cover of the switch to see if it's burned inside.

Placing the bag on an inverted glass bowl or pyrex casserole dish worked!!!!! For 2 years, I have cursed my Dacor microwave for its inability to make popcorn (burns a hole in the bag, bag stays flat, almost no kernels pop, etc...) I read the last suggestion to use the glass plate and I am now sitting with a bowl full of perfectly popped popcorn - with only 1 kernel unpopped. The metal tray in the microwave conducts too many waves through the bag I guess.
