Sony Walkman cassette tape player operating at slower speed

Cassette tape sound is clear and distinct. Batteries are brand new. Need to know if speed can be adjusted to operate a little faster.

Please check any tinny hole in its back cabinet, that will be speed adjustment.

If this is the WMD6C then it is servo locked and can be fine tuned with the pitch control on the back of the unit just turn the switch to on then adjust to preferred speed.

Wow thanks. I was just about to take my sony WM-FX41 apart but the casing wouldn't open and the I googled it just to make sure and I found an access pin hole for the servo. Works like new. Now I can finish the Star Lord costume for my kid. Very thankful for the tip.

1.I use cassette player everyday....that stuff is running slower n slower n finaly stopped...the sound's not getting clearly also....How could I do? 2. And the probllem is the same with m CD...

there are little rubber belts inside that attach the motor to the gears that turn the tapes or cd's. over time they stretch out and turn everything slower and slower. you can try replacing the belts, or finding the speed adjustment screw for the motor and turning it up. either one is usually more effort than its worth though. they just weren't designed to last for a long time.

New tape playing too fast. What do I do to slow it to normal speed?

You have to replace the IC 601, probably burns because of some passive components that must be replaced. "Doctor.walkman @ gmail.com"

Tape speed distorts and slows

motor belts are cheap. try replacing the belt that drives the wheel. this become distorted specially when the unit has not been use for quit long time. if you think its not about belt, clean up the rubber that touches the tape when played, also the tape head with 70% alcohol. hope this help.

My Sony Walkman WM -SR10 is not recording and the cassette tape is not working. Only the radio is player. And I cannot get another one to buy even its not the same. Can you help me

Hello aga2958,
I think you need to visit maintenance center to fix that cause its hardware problem.
But you can check somethings before u visit them .. like:
1. If you are using Batteries to power up the Walkman .. be sure the batteries are full charged.
2. Try to power on the Walkman by Adapter 3 Volts.
3. Be sure the tapes you are using are fine into other Cassette.
Thanks for using FixYa.
