HP Officejet 4315 All-in-One went offline

It was working fine yesterday. I shut my laptop down last night and when I got up this morning, the printer was offline. Can't get back to ready status in order to print. We share printer, and it has been doing just fine until now. We are in college online and need printer to work. What went wrong?

Hi there,

  • Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
  • Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
  • restart the computer
  • try to download drivers from the website
  • after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
  • then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.

If the printer is shared, the print server ( the computer which is connected directly to the printer, which has shared the printer) must be turn on and the printer itself, in order to have others print.

Click Start and then go to Printers and Faxes (XP), Printers(Vista), Devices and Printers(Win 7)
1. Right Click on your printer Icon 2. Click Open or See What's Printing 3. Click the option that says Printer on the upper left corner of the window that pops up. 4. Make sure the only thing that is checked under that menu is Set As Default Printer. 5. If Use Printer Offline or Pause Printing has a check mark. Uncheck it.

Printer says '' error- offline" everything is hooked up worked fine yesterday and last 3 years
is the correct driver installed? also is it plugged in to the same usb port? Visit the manufactuers website and update youre rivers but do it while the printer is unplugged then plug it in

My HP officejet 4300 series stopped printing and shows that it is offline. How do I get it back online?
To get back online of your printer, go to Control Panel and Select Printer & Faxes then OPEN.
A list of Printer is on the browser, point the printer with your mouse then right click on your Printer HP OfficeJet to select Printer Offline and click it to go back Printer Online. Good luck!

On Control Panel it says the printer is offline...forget how to make it online! HP 4315 All in One
Hi there

Are you absolutely sure the printer is connected securely from both ends of the cable and turned on? If so, try turning it off and on again. Did it come online?

If not, how is the printer connected to your computer? Is it by USB cable, or via a network cable? And also let me know your operating system like XP or Vista etc.
