Hi, did you manage to find the problem? Coz I seem to have a similar problem with my Evoque SD4. Had an accident, my intercooler and radiator were replaced, now the problem is i keep loosing coolant, Land rover did a pressure test but the guage did not drop at all, no leaks, no white smoke, no engine management light, no bubbles in the coolant tank, performance is good.

I have a 1998 Freelander 3dr Tdi (L-series Diesel) It just started to idle high (just above 1000rpm) and sometimes it would shoot up to between 3000-4000 rpm when ingaging the clutch (when coming to a...

Check for a possible leaking vacuum system, maybe the vacuum booster is leaking, that would explain the idle being affected by stepping on the brake pedal.

Rover 45 problem with water leaking

Hi sorry if this response is a little late,,, i aint been on for a while,,, the thermostat could cause the heat problem but if you loosing coolant it has to go somewhere,,, check for dripping anywhere under the car and around the cylinder head,, the head gasket can leak 1 of 2 ways out of the head/into the head but lets rule that out for now as now over heating,, if you have had the waterpump replaced go for the thermostat it should cure the problem ,
Hope this isnt too late, let me know if you need anymore help

2001 diesel smell

I would check the color of the diesel in the fuel tank first. Siphon a small sample out into a clear container. If it has a yellowish apperance to it and is not transparent combined with the fact that you are losing water I would strongly suspect the injector tubes in the cylinder head. The coolant passes around them so when they leak you can get water in the diesel and diesel in the water. That would the most likley cause, the other possibility is a cracked head. The air conditioner does use water at all. It condenses water on the coils from the air and drips down, more so on humid days.
