DVD Displays "Incorrect Disc"

After reviewing the manual and ensuring that the DVDs I was attempting to view were in fact compatible with this TV I still was receiving an "Incorrect Disc" message. Do I need to perhaps reprogram the DVD player on my TV so that it will read all DVDs again? Thanks for your help.

I bought a Hitachi (L22DG07U) 22 Inch LED LCD DVD Combi TV everything else works perfectly except the fact that the DVD doesn't talk but the TV talk well, what do I do?

Take it in for repair unless you are a DVD repair person.

The only thing you can try is a DVD Cleaning disc. You don't say what it does or doesn't do except it 'doesn't talk'. Well it isn't supposed to talk, it should play DVDs :>D

Only Smart televisions have Bluetooth. Here is your manual, you could attach an external DVD if you can find one that has a SCART connector.

Why does my mizuda dvd player always skip dvds

It is either dirty or scratched DVDs or using 'Copy' DVDs.

Or the DVD Laser Optics are dusty, particularly the tracking laser which is a lot lower powered that the reading laser. You can buy DVD Cleaner spray and also cleaner CD discs which gently brush the optics.

The drive plays DVDs and can read doc files, but

This problem is normal and exists with many CD/DVD drives.
On some of the drives, if you put in blank discs and try to open the disc in My Computer or Windows Explorer, Windows displays no contents or a blank disc. Whereas on other drives, you get the error message that you mentioned about incorrect function.

What software are you using to burn CDs or DVDs? Are you able to burn CDs but not DVDs or you can't burn both the discs? Did you try a CDs with a different make/manufacturer? Some drives refuse on some disc makes. Try another disc and another writing speed, or try the lowest writing speed available with your software.

Hope that helps,
Regards,

DVP-NS30 shows "CANNOT PLAY" message when DVD inserted

Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if the DVD player cannot read or play the inserted disc.
  1. Ensure the inserted disc is compatible with the DVD player.IMPORTANT: Refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product for a list of compatible disc. Manuals are available online in the Manuals/Specs/Warranty section of the Sony® eSupport Web site.
  2. Use a soft cloth to clean the disc.
  3. Examine the disc for any cracks or scratches that might be interfering with playback.
  4. Attempt to play another disc.NOTES:
    • If another disc plays in the DVD player, then the previous disc is faulty.
    • Some recordable discs may not play correctly because of the quality of the recording, the physical condition of the disc, or the characteristics of the recording device or authoring software used.

  5. Remove the disc from the DVD player.
  6. Turn off the DVD player.
  7. Unplug the power cord of the DVD player from the AC outlet.
  8. Let the DVD player remain without power for 1 minute.
  9. Plug the power cord back into the AC outlet.
  10. Turn on the DVD player.
  11. Insert the disc into the DVD player.
  12. Attempt to play the disc.
If still persists, its time for your device to get serviced.

DVD burnne will not burn data files

This could be for numerous reasons

1. the disc is not compatable with your drive ie its a cheap branded one so get a decent branded spindle of discs ie TDK or tayo yuden or the likes

2. The disc is blank

3. Is this only with blank dvds ( dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd-rw, dvd+rw ) ?

4, can you play or read normal cd's just not dvd's ?

I had a similiar problem when my old dvd rom drive was getting old and sometimes it would work and others it wouldnt the only other thing I can think of is to ensure the chipset drivers ie the IDE / sata drivers are up to date and also are there any firmware updates for the dvd drive ?

Also ensure if there are any jumper pins ensure they are set correctly and that the data cable and power cables are seated firmly as per the other suggestion.

WIth the prices of dvd drives now it would be easier to buy a new one and replace it.

Caanot play CD-R/DVD-R burnt from PC

First check that in your user manual that the dvd player is JPEG compatible. When you say you are having the problem on other DVD's do you mean when you use DVD+R and DVD-R disks on your own player or that yu have tried to play the same DVD disk on other brand DVD players without success? You dont mention which software you are using to save your JPEG's to Disk or whether you can in fact view them on your PC. After making sure that your Windows media player displays your pictures ok, Try using the NERO dvd burning Rom programme to load your JPEG's. I am assuming that you are not trying to record a DVD in a CD burning drive? hope this helps - hattonhall
