It worked fine last night... tonight it will not even present a clear "Panasonic" blue on Yellow screen but gives colored snow that fades through yellowish, greenish, dark, light, white and grey etc. with apparent randomness. It is not a bulb... I had a spare and put that in and it still does the same thing. It is not an external input, I have tested each and even the projector with no inputs connected, presents the same problem.
In side the projector is a small like an lcd screen i cannot remember the name, but they are not cheap this is how the projector displays the output so you can see the screen programs, this would of gone they do this, over time, this would need replacing, they are not cheap but you can replace it. its at the end of the light chamber in between the lenses. the part is called DMD

sounds like bad cables, or wrong setting on projector you may have it set to compoent instead of composite,, you don't tell how you are hooking it up. (what type of cables you are using)
SOURCE: Panasonic 56" projection color problems
there are so many technologies for the projection tv's ever one has their own caracteristic faults with out you mention the technoligy used on your tv will be deficult to help you but assuming is a lcd projection you must have a problem with the optical block the repair will be expesive if you do not have a manufactuer warranty for it

may be a heat problem: check the psu unit for components getting too hot...use a laser thermometer and keep you fingers away from the psu ! other possible problem may be a bad capacitor or the thermal protection before the psu..but this would be a very uncommon problem.
