Yes , when the refer needs to cool it will fire up only with the LP. In the electric selection it will work the same way. Do not fret , it is working ok.

$1,000.00 is ridiculous. The wiring is likely color coded. You simply purchase insulated automotive wire and insulated barrel type crimp-on lugs. Cut out the damaged wire, and replace it with the new wire.
