Power light on my power acoutics amp and also my mtx 81001 thunder mono block amp turns on but no sound comes out to the subs?? how do i fix it? or they are no good

you maybe plugged the RCA's into the wrong inputs. or the amplifier is damaged.

turn up the gain and check the output settings of your deck and turn on the sub out channel.

I have a MTX Thunder 81001 car amp in my repair shop. It has power but no sound, what can i do to repair this amp?

You can open it up and smell for any burned components. Once you identify the burned resistor, transistor, capacitor try to replace it with the same value in RADIO SHACK. Also check for burned out tracers on the circuit board. Thats when the copper etching on the board has literally melted away. You reconnect it by soldering small wires and bridge the connections back together. Need solder and soldering Pen. The soldering gun is too strong and may do more damage to the circuit board if used to long.

What is Positive and what is Negative

Hi Mason.
Are the positions colour coded in any way?
Red = Positive
Black = Negative
I've looked at some photo's from the website and at a guess I would say that yours are the push on crimp types, so no colour markings.
Have a look at the pdf wiring diagram they supply here as it may shed some light on things:
MTX Thunder US-XT12-44
I've looked over loads of forums but none seem to mention the wiring of these subs.
Understandably you want to get this right as they are a very nice set of subs when they're up and running.
If all else fails try looking at the MTX contact list and ringing one of their supported dealers for more info.

Mike

I have a mtx thunder 421d. I've had it about 5 years,about a week ago it started going out from time to time. I checked my hot wire and fuses,they are ok.Now the amp stop working, and dont light up. Will...

If you have proof of purchase(invoice or receipt) showing the purchase date and you are still within the warranty period then yes it would be repaired by MTX under the warranty guidlines, and by the way MTX is great at customer service and they are great to work with(very fair)!!!!
Keep in mind that the seal on the bottom of the amp cannot be broken or that will void warranty coverage.
Give them a call, you will be glad you did!

MTX Thunder 81001 wont push subs

first of all you should check the minimal impedance your amp handles , if is class d it should handle between 1-2 ohms total impedance in a mono conection , meaning whatever quantity of subs you have hooked to your amplifier,their total impedance should the minimum the amp handles that way all the power from your amplifier will be used.

Need proper wiring details.

This is a dual 4 ohm sub. By wiring the terminals in series (one set of + to - from one side to the other) you will have an 8 ohm sub (most folks probably don't want this). By wiring in parallel (+ to + and - to - and connect the - wire to the - terminal on your amp and the + wire to the + terminal on your amp you'll have a 2 ohm sub.

I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/robert_aad3edb7dfa380b9

Ground Wire Hook-up

MTX has the hookup diagram here: http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/manualsQuickInstall/amps/RTP251D_InstallSheet.pdf If you have the original wiring harness, the ground wire is normally black. The amplifier case or chassis is ground connnected on amps I've seen as well.
