If you are using an indoor Antenna:
1- the most probable reason would be the location of the antenna and TV in an area where the reception is very low. Indoors all houses are affected by the running electrical circuits which in turn generate magnetic field that together with the structure of the house obstruct or weaken the wave signals of wireless and TV reception. Also this issue may be aggravated by the vicinity you are live in. Where you are living may not have the optimum reception from some services including TV signals. Your best bet is to try moving the (Indoor) antenna closer to the outside (such as windows, or better to a balcony) and try all four directions of the house.
2- One other possibility, is the antenna jack being disconnected from one of its wires (or a de-solder) at an internal part of its circuit). This problem can be detected by trying another antenna that is working good when used with another TV (and preferably at a different location) thus testing for the possible weak signal at the same time.
3- The last possible issue is the antenna receptacle built onto the Tv set. This may have a problem of some element of it disconnected internally on the board or de-soldered..
If the Antenna is external, all the above points are still valid, but the probability is higher, for some hidden disconnection on the receptacle, the antenna plug or at the connection of the co-axial cable with the external antenna. (Once I found a co-axial cable with disconnections of its central copper wire within the protective insulating coat- probably due to defects in the plastic coat that had microscopic holes that allowed air and humidity into the central wire and caused it to corrode and have those discontinuities)..

SOURCE: Quasar VV-2001 TV/VCR combo - msg: Check Antenna Cable Connection

Check first the antenna using another TV. If there is no other TV available, check using an ohmeter. If you are 100% sure tha the antenna is ok then the antenna connector on your Tv is not making a good connection to the antenna plug.

Yes, you need an antenna -- rabbit ears or some other type of digital antenna.

SOURCE: Lost the remote

Without the Panasonic remote you can not get to those features to program these sets. I have included a link to purchase a replacement remote control. They aren't expensive and much easier to use than a universal remote. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks...

Do I need an hd convert box to get free channels

If you have a digital tv then no. Go to menu, click on input, click tuner or tv, click antenna, run auto scan for channels. Make sure antenna is hooked up. Digital antenna is preferred but not mandatory. If you're not getting channels move antenna re-scan for channels. Hope this helps!

Hooked up to antenna did channel scan in air mode not getting any channels. Hooked up a Vizio tv to same antenna line and got all the locals. Maybe something wrong with the Sharp?

Make sure that Sharpe is set to over the air/antenna and not cable. There are more than one scan modes. http://files.sharpusa.com/Downloads/ForHome/HomeEntertainment/LCDTVs/Manuals/tel_man_LC42_46_52D65U.pdf

See page 14 in the link. It is easy to mis-configure the setup to not receive the over the air digital channels. The input must be set to digital and air in setup. The VHF are no longer available.

Hope this helps?

I just hooked an antenna to my sony bravia and it only picks up a few digital channels. I have two other Tvs hooked to the same antenna and the both pick up so many more channels. What could be the pr

i think the 'front end fet' or channel fet has failed
this amplifies the incomming antenna signal
however is the center pin of the antenna plug on the tv loose
inside the tv is a metal box this is attached too
it changed the UHF signals to a lower frequency range called an IF
the UHF signals are normaly have a path like this
antenna>>safety >>>amp>>mixeramp>>output to DTV decoder etc

the amp bit or connection to the tv is wrong
as its working quite well and gets like 2 channels

look inside the socket on the tv and examine it carefully for any bits of wire
or as i say loose connections
may just need to be soldered inside the can to reconnect the center pin

it will still give like 2 3 channels as the gap caused by the bad solder joint
will still allow some RF accross
so... its either a gubbed UHF RF amp or a broken connection or a short ... so...

32in Vizio getting no channels

You have to go to your menu screen and change the settings from antenna to cable that should take care of it, and should be able to do a auto scan to load channel memory

I just purchased an indoor antenna for to view local stations. Can i use an indoor antenna for my olevia 232-t11 lcd-hdtv? If I can, what steps do I need to follow?

Yes you can use an indoor antenna. Just make sure it is an HD antenna to get the digital channels clearly. You will have to do a scan to pick up local channels. In the TV menu, it will ask you if you want to scan for "cable" channels or "antenna" channels. You want to choose antenna.

You likely need to add an antenna amplifier. The PS3 should have been hooked up to one of the other source inputs other than the antenna. If it was attached via the antenna, a solder connection may have come loose or the coax got kinked.
