I last used it in september 2008 and have getting it out to use again i have charged it for about three hours but like i said it goes on to the 1st screen where the navigate and settings are then i go into settings and set time and date then i go into navigate then it just stops on the screen with (geodb ctor)

Sounds like a software problem. Insert the maps backup cd with your unit attatched to the computer by usb. An option of reinstalling original software will appear, click on this after 10 mins it should be back to how you first got it
