Door open could be either the front door, or the top cover. Both have an actuator for the switch.. A pinched wire could also be your problem.
That failure to feed out might be your feed rollers and separation pads .. need cleaning.
especially since you've had to tear down.
I clean them with plain water, and blow them dry.

I hope this will solve your issue.
Good Luck.

Door open error shows, even if it is closed

There is a black sensor that detects when the door is closed, and an actuator that the sensor either sees or doesn't see. If this sensor is dirty, it might not be seeing the actuator. It could also be broken or knocked out of place.

Close upper right door

I would try closing the door, then power off and unplug the printer for at least a minute. This may clear out the error.
If still no go, open the door and make sure there is nothing blocking the door from closing completely and also locate the door sensor and inspect for damage to the sensor as well as the part of the door that disables the senor / interacts with the sensor when the door is closed.

The printer will not print, and it keeps saying that the printer door is open, but it's not. I just replaced the cartridges, but I made sure the door was closed. How can I get this working?

Hi,

You may try the following to resolve the issue,

  • Open, and then close the cartridge door of the product. Make sure that the door rests securely against the body of the product.
  • Check if the error message still displays. If it does continue with next step.
  • Inspect the cartridge door and the area around it to make sure that no obstructions prevent the door from closing completely.
  • Check if the error message still displays. If it does continue with next step.
  • Press the Power button to turn ON the printer.
  • Disconnect the USB cable from the back of the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Wait 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the electrical outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
  • Reconnect the USB cable to the printer.
  • Check if the error message still displays.
  • If the error is still there you need to send it for repair, as the sensor for the door might have gone bad.

Error message says close cover -- when we try to print -- but the cover is closed -- error message will not disappear

Open the cover, and look carefully -- there is a small "sensor" that should be activated as you close the door. If the sensor is malfunctioning, then it never sends the "door-is-closed" signal to your computer. There might be some paper-dust that is interfering with the sensor.

Error message= open door clear carriage jam and

I think the message is instructions, as in
(1) open door (2) clear carriage jam (3) press enter
So there is something internal to the printer that makes it think it has a carriage jam, piece of paper under a sensor, dirty or stuck sensor.
If you can't find it using a bright light, try canned air.

Error message: "Door Open"

HI there,
Follow the steps below:
Step one: Close the print cartridge access door
1.Verify that the print cartridge access door is completely closed. It may appear to be closed, but if it is not completely closed, the error message will display. Verify that there are no obstructions blocking the door.
2.If you are unsure how to close the print cartridge access door on your model, consult your User Guide for more information.
Figure 1: Examples of closing the print cartridge access door (your model may vary)
f3e57be.gif If you have attempted to completely close the access door and the error still appears, there may be a problem with the door sensor and the unit may require service.

Step two: Service your product
If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product.

Good Luck!!!

Door error message

you may have a broken cartridge lock or door sensor. remove all the toner cartridges. then open and close the door and watch for 4 white hooks that open and close on the right interior of the machine where the cartridges are installed. if three of the 4 open and close with door then the one that doesn't is your broken lock. if all 4 work then you have a broken door sensor. Good luck.
