Have you tried putting any shredder oil on a piece of paper and running that through the shredder?

If you have the same 8 HP Tecumseh engine that I do then if you look at the the engine, squat down so that you are looking at the recoil starter, then look for a label on the left side of the shroud (cover) down low and you should find the model number of the engine. Record that number and send it to me so I can check it. After I check it I will tell you what website to go to in order to order it or how to get the part number so your local small engine repair shop can order it for you. You can also just take the engine model number to the local small engine repair shop and tell them what you want to order and they should be able to get it for you.

Had the same problem. The gears inside the shredder have worn out. I overfed the shredder with too much paper and caused the nylon gears to slip and strip away the teeth. Now the motor won't engage the cutters when you attempt to feed the machine. If your handy you can take it apart, find the gears, contact the manufacture and have them send you out a new set for that model. If not, then you will need to buy a new shredder. In my case, they sent out new gears, it took forever to receive, and when I did get them one gear was the wrong size. I had them send out a new one, and again after weeks it was still the wrong gear, even after sending them pictures! I am now buying a new shredder, and I am spending a bit more to get a more robust machine that can handle more of the workload I need.
