"French door" refrigerators built by LG (and some others) have a 3rd switch in the freezer compartment. All three switches must be closed to turn the upper refrigerator lights off. Unfortunately the freezer switch does not cause the door alarm to annunciate. The result is a sealed upper containment area with a "Kenmore EZ Bake oven affect" on the upper shelf!

The freezer door is prone to be left open especially by children and guests who tend to push it shut with their foot and/or expect it to coast to the fully closed position.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS IS A SUBSTANDARD AND UNSAFE PRODUCT DESIGN SINCE IT LEAD TO FOOD POISONING AND/OR A FIRE.

IMHO this warrants a product recall for safety reasons. Canadian Standards Association has been notified and will be re-evaluating these products which may require recertification. In the meantime.... buyer beware!

Oven light stays on and oven is inop on Kitchenaid KGSS907SSS01. Tried to go to self clean mode, Display states close door, but door is close.

I suspect the door/light switch has malfunction. Look for a plunger type of switch and press it in and see if light goes out. If light goes out, close door and gently press on door and see if light goes out. If this happens, I think the door hinges are not closing the door 100% so the door switch is not engaged. Now if door light stays on while pressing door switch, then the door switch might be your issue. Good Luck

Why are all lights staying on kenmore ultra wash dishwasher 665

I'm not sure if all of your lights are staying on, but if it is several at least and your cycle is done....just push your door closed again and the lights should go out. I find that after my cycle finishes, if I don't completely close the door, most of the lights stay lit. I have to be sure the door snaps in all the way when I close it or the lights stay on.

The light on the Garage door blinks but doesn't stay on.

Three blinking lights & door won't close by Candi
(Winston-Salem, NC)
Garage door will not open and close with remotes. Three blinking lights occur when we try to close door. What does this mean? It is a Linear unit.
I will assume you mean that your garage door will open with your remote but will not close. It should close if you press and hold the wall control button until the door is fully closed.
If that is the case, the 3 blinking lights indicate that your garage door's infrared safety beams are not properly aligned.
1) Check that the operator has power. The green lights on the sender and receiver should be lit.
2) If the receiver's green light is on, but the red light is off, the receiver has power but is not detecting the infrared beam from the sender. The red light might flash when the beam is partially detected. This can be caused by
mis-alignment or something blocking the beam.
Adjust the safety beam sender and receiver while watching the receiver's red light (stay out of the beam while aligning it). When the red light stays on, the beam is aligned and your garage door should operate normally.
http://www.linearcorp.com/pdf/manuals/LCO75.pdf
NOTE: If the receiver's red light remains off, check for:
1) Dirt on the receiver's lens,
2) Sunlight shining into the receiver's lens,
3) A short in the safety beam wiring (from staples or at the operator terminals).

In the Ford Ranger, the light switch can be found in the door, right by the latch. You may need to use some WD-40 to get to work properly. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2003 Explorer door ajar light stay on when all doors are closed

I had this problem on my 2003 explorer and took WD40 and gave the lock mechanism a good dose where it meets the clasp on the door jam. Then open and close the doors a couple of times to get them working. They get gummed up and sometimes have a tendency to stick.

Light stays on when door is closed

The GE GSL22JFPH refrigerator door gets lower over time. When it gets low enough the light stays on when the door closes. There is a vertical bolt along the hinge line. Push down the hinged plastic "hinge cover" under the door right on the hinge line and you can get a wrench on the bolt to raise the door. I have to do this every 6 months/
