I have solved this problem myself. The nylon belt pulley is obviously pressed on to the shaft and an probably be prised off. However, I felt that there was a very high chance of damaging it without a special puller to get right behind it. The solution I arrived at was to drill an 8mm hole in the pulley directly above the screw and remove the screw with a magnetized screwdriver through the pulley. As the pulley only revolves quite slowly when in operation the small hole does not affect the balance and cause any vibration.
