When there is any amount of stress to cultivate, the tines start to slow in rotation and most of the time will stop rotating completely until the tines are freed of any cultivation material, then will again rotate.
PS -Over the past 2 years, I estimate I have contacted Sears/Craftsman 5 times by on-line email with product/model/serial # to find out how to purchase a service/repair manual and have never heard from anyone.
How old is this tiller does it have a drive belt from the engine to the gear assembly? if so have you tried to adjust it and take up slack. when it bogs does the engine slow or is it just the tines i will try to help solve your problem if you can keep me up on progress and answer questions to the best of your ability..feel free to email [email protected]
try adjusting belt if it is belt driven.if that dont solve it you may need a new belt (tip if it is belt driven ,take a bar ov soap and rub it on the inside surface of the belt this will often help remidy slippage. also double check and make sure there is no wire or rope in side of end bearings and center bearing check carefully because a small piece of wire will often play hide and seek... keep me posted
