Hiya Please Help Me I Have forgotten my Bios Password and now as i turn my laptop on it show on front asking for my password or a master password my service tag number is 31ydj3j-595b
you need the dst cd boot the laptop with it - if the boot order doesn't allow cd first, you just need to push f12 during the dell screen to open the one time boot menu. after that you have to change or erase the service tag. this will erase the eeprom and the configure password (admin, setup or bios password - whatever you call it) will be gone too. thats it. change your service tag back to its original value if you want and you'll be fine. it worked for a d400 which I was supposed to fix for a friend.

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.
In case of your Dell laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD, as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.
Is this a Windows password after the machine boots, or is this a bios or power on password before booting to the windows screen? If it's a Windows password, try running a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. If it's a bios password get back to me and I'll send you a couple of links. In order to clear a bios password you'll need to Contact Dell support. The links will help only if it's a bios password. Let me know.
Hi,
