The Acer Aspire line of netbooks have two
methods to restore the computer to a working state: System Restore, an
application included with Windows, or Acer eRecovery Management, a proprietary
application that is packaged with Acer PCs.
If errors appear when running Windows, or if the computer begins to behave
strangely, first run System Restore to determine whether reverting the PC to a
previous state fixes the problem.
If the problem remains unresolved, or worsens, you can use
Acer eRecovery Management to format the hard drive and reload the Acer Aspire
netbook to its factory state.
Navigate to the "Start" menu. Select the "Control Panel."
Type "restore" into the Search box.
Press "Enter" then select "Restore Your
Computer to an Earlier Time" from below the "Action Center."
Click "Open System Restore."
Click "Next" on the "Restore System Files and
Settings" screen.
Select a restore point that was created when the
computer was functioning properly.
Click "Next," then click "Finish."
Click "Yes" to confirm.
Windows will perform a system recovery on the Acer Aspire
One.
Acer eRecovery Management
Turn on the Acer netbook. Hold down the "Alt" and
"F10" buttons simultaneously on the boot screen to load Acer
eRecovery Management from the recovery partition.
Select "Restore Operating System to Factory
Defaults" from the options.
Click "Next" to recover the system to its original
state.
