Depends but for me a sony has a softer picture brightness so the parameters are contrast/picture 80, brightness 50,color 60,sharpness 40/20 try this charley

no you cannot connect directly you will require to connect it through you laptop .

According to other posts I have read (I have same problem) there is no power getting to the fans. They recommend re-seating the fan harness again as it might have come loose or might have dust etc., in it.
I have no idea how to do this yet but that is what the trouble-shooting guide says.
