New Xantrex 2000 watt inverter/charger installed by rv dealer on 2013 toy hauler. Have 4 solar panels and 4 6volt batteries. I was using a 300 watt slow cooker when the inverter started smelling like burning electrical wire. I thought the rv was going to burn down. The inverter never got hot. the fan was working. the smell over took the inside of the rv. it has a toxic smell. This is first time out. looking for the cause of the odor. Think it has something to do with the charging part of the inverter but not sure where to start. The dealer is 1200 miles away and nearest mfg service dept is about 700+ miles away.
I would call or e-mail the manufacturer of the inverter. The dealer or dealers may know the issue but likely the manufacturer will be more help.
Some devices like an inverter will have a smell in the beginning, power supplies are like that. You said that the inverter didn't get hot but smell indicates something is hot.
