Date stamp on each picture taken

Also, I'm not able to set the time and date on my camera. When I go to the menu to select it, it is "grayed" out and I'm not able to select it. So when I order my picture they are all stamped with the date I ordered them instead of the date I took the picture. How can I fix that?

Still need help and I do not have money to pay to get the problem fix. This is a new camera and I should be able to get technical help without having to pay for it. I might return the camera and go with another supplier.
    thanks

Unfortunately, the Date Stamp feature only works with the "Postcard (1600x1200)" setting. Change the shooting mode to Postcard and you can then turn Date Stamp on/off.

I want to switch off the date stamp in my pictures taken with A480, please.

Press Menu, scroll down to "Date stamp" and across to select off, date or date and time, then press menu again. The date stamp only works in Postcard mode, so if you set a different picture resolution, that will also stop the pictures being date stamped.

How do i remove the time and date at bottom right corner of picture.

Manual can be downloaded free from here ....

http://safemanuals.com/annexe_POWERSHOT%2020A550%2020CAMERA%2020USER%2020GUIDE%2020ADVANCED%2020_CANON_POWERSHOT%20A550-_E.htm

Basically the date stamp can be turned on / off as an option on the RECORD menu. Page 33 of the manual explains it (with pictures).

Note that if the option is turned on, it states that the date / time is permanently embedded in the picture.

Hope this helps

Press the circular 'Menu/Set' button Press down arrow to playback mode Press right arrow on 'text stamp' Choose whether to apply stamp to single or multiple photos Press 'Menu/set' to select photo to stamp. Choose which stamps to add. Date, time, age etc.. Press 'Menu/set' again and select 'Yes' in box. The only problem with this is that it will resize your photos to 3m, which can make them grainier if you took them at a higher res. Gillian

Canon A540

The date will only show up on the picture under a limited set of circumstances on the Canon PowerShot digital cameras, of which the A540 is one. You've probably found the Date function in the menu, but discovered that it was off, grayed out, and skipped over whenever you tried to reset it.

Date stamp will only work in "Postcard" mode. Press the Function button (labeled "FUNC SET"), then press the down button until you reach the Recording Pixels selection (usually labeled "L", but not always). It's probably the bottom onscreen selection. Use the right or left buttons to select Postcard, then press the Function button again.

Press the Menu button and scroll down to Date Stamp. Now you should be able to select "Date" or "Date & Time" with the right or left button. Press Menu again and take your pictures.

Blurry Pics and not able to set date/time

You can only set the date stamp in the “Post Card” resolution mode. Hit the “function” button, go down to the resolution selection (L, M, S, W, Postcard, etc.). Pick the “Post Card” setting. Hit the “menu” button and the “date stamp” menu will be active

Show the Date stamp on the picture

One reason why the date stamp is not showing would be that you have not set the system date/time. The date/time resets everytime you take out the battery. Please go to this link and download the userguide... http://alpha02u.c-wss.com/inc/ApplServlet?SV=WWUCA900 file name : PSS500IXUS500CUG-EN.pdf ...Go to page 26 which will tell you how to set the date/time and then go to page 109,113 for the date/time to be displayed on the photographs. Please tell me if this helps
