Hi. I have a several year old JVC LT-42X688 LCD TV. A couple of months ago it started getting wide horizontal bands (like 6" to 12" high, sometimes all the way across the screen), like a translucent maroon color, appear, disappear, reappear. Usually when the set was first turned on and more or less go off after it had warmed up maybe 10-20 minutes. Got progressively worse. Found that if I bumped the side of the set, rather firmly, it would usually go away - but sometimes reappear. Has gotten progressively worse, but bumping it will usually drive it away for a while. Perhaps I can open it up and look for loose a board or component? On the Video card? Thanks for any help.

Sorry, this has no easy fix. The good news is you do not need an LCD Panel. The bad news is the Video Processor has a problem.
This TV has x3 Boards. The one you should replace first is the one in the middle. If this doesn't fix it, try the one on the right. The Part #s are on the Boards if you wanna try ebay.

You need an Analog Board. It is the one in the middle. You can find it on ebay for $50 I think.

Sounds like a Tab Issue,Connections are Become Bad on the Inner Connections to the Screen,The Real Fix would be to Replace The Panel
