Hi, To access or enter motherboard BIOS settings, on powerup either F2 or Del. If you just want to remove the password in your Dell Optiplex > The BIOS password may be cleared by removing the password jumper (PSWD) on the motherboard. This will also clear all CMOS settings: Open your casing, on your motherboard. find the CMOS password reset jumper (3-pin) on the motherboard; Remove the jumper from pins 1 and 2 and put it on pins 2 and 3 for about 5 seconds. Replace back the jumper on pins 1 and 2. Hope this be of help/idea. Good luck and kind regards.
Hi again,
For a Dell OptiPlex GX270 PC Desktop, the Paswword Jumper is located near the power connector.
On not so recent versions of Dell, they use 3-pin terminals, however most newer models/versions use 2 2-pin terminals.
Below is a copy of the jumper settings from the User manual available athttp://support.dell.com/support/edocs/sy...
Cheers.
The previous post answered you "..I STILL CAN'T FIND IT.DO YOU KNOW WHERE I CAN GO THAT WILL HAVE A PICTURE OF THE MOTHERBOARD?..."
If you're planning on installing Windows, no drivers needed for the CD ROM.
If you are connecting your HD and CD ROM in tandem in a single IDE flat cable, you have to set your HD to master and your CD ROM to Slave. Normally there are instructions on the label of the HD on what pins should a jumper be placed to enable it as master. Likewise at the rear at the CD ROM there would be 3 pairs of pins, the middle is usually jumpered to enable it as slave.
On first power on, go to your BIOS/CMOS and check if the motherboard has auto detected your HD & CD ROM.
