Insert the disc. Go to Computer >> Right click on DVD icon and click Auto play / Open with Windows media player. If the video does not play, you might have to download codecs from www.filehippo.com. Look for klite codec and install it. Alternatively you can use VLC player available at filehippo.com

The K-Lite Codec Pack is good. You can download it from filehippo.com

windows media player does not support that file format... you will need to play those files from other media player such as media player classic or VLC media player....here are the links.

You need to install Codec pack as all of the video/audio format will not be supported by the operating systems.

On the right hand side, you will see K-Lite Codec Pack
Download and install it then you will be able to hear sound.

As an alternate, you can use VLC media player which supports almost of all formats.

if you are trying to play movies in Media Player, then Media Player will not support all the video file types. You can use VLC media player to watch movies and install a codec pack to watch movies in Media Player.

I think its telling you you need a codec not a code.

Go to filehippo.com, download and install a programme called VLC media player. Its a brilliant media player and up to date with most codecs.

The alternative is, again on filehippo.com, download and install: - K-Lite Codec Pack 6.10 (Full).

THis is an up to date codec pack which links into media player, but downloading and installing is a bit more involved than VLC.

Go to Filehippo.com and download and istall K-Lite Codec Pack 5.90 (Full) it should beef up your windows media player to accommodate most codec's.

If that doesn't do the job, again from filehippo, download and install VLC Media Player.

Both programmes are freeware.

Do you get any error message while trying to play a DVD. It can be due to missing CODEC.
