My player stated incompatible region number and its not a foreign disc that I put in. It works on older blu-ray disc. I rented a new release from Block Buster, but it won't play it.

You can get a region free Blu-ray/DVD player program on your PC and then you can play any Blu-ray/DVD discs of any region codes. You can try Leawo Blu-ray Player which is a region free Blu-ray, DVD and 4K player.

There's a program called Leawo Blu-ray Copy that can create region-free Blu-ray/DVD copies. If it's the region codes on your discs that's causing the playback problem, try making region-free copies of your Blu-ray/DVD collection. Here's a detailed guide for you:https://www.leawo.org/tutorial/remove-blu-ray-disc-region-codes-1334.html

The person asking what a "blue ray" is, is a troll, and there is no such thing as a "Blu-Ray DVD" anymore than there is "DVD VHS".

It's a Blu-Ray disc Mr. "Guru".

Hi Weebok,

If you have a standard (conventional) DVD player or DVD recorder, it will NOT play back Blu-Ray DVD's.
A Blu-Ray DVD player or recorder WILL play back any other standard format DVD, and many Blu-Ray players will play standard DVD's from ANY region.
The only way you can play the Blu Ray DVD you have will be to buy a Blu-Ray player or take it back and exchange it for a standard Region 1 (USA & Canada); Region 2 (Europe) or Region 3 (Asia) disc.
Hope this helps!

Can't play dvd--wrong region

Commercial DVDs are released with region codes that restricts in which part of the world they can be played. Consumer DVD players sold in those regions are pre-configured with the correct region code for the given sales area. The United States, Canada, Bermuda, and U.S. territories are region 1. Europe (except Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus), The Middle East, Egypt, Japan, South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Greenland and region 2.

I need a region free code for my Insignia NS-BRDVD player (a bluray/DVD player purchased in Canada).

This worked for my NS-BRDVD2-CA, basically the same model as yours.
1. Turn on the player.
2. Press the home/setup button and release. Enter 9-1-1-3 on the number pad.
3. "Configure player" appears in the wheel menu to the left of the screen. Using the up or down arrow button on your remote, navigate to it and press enter.
4. Three menus appear on a blue screen in the centre of the set: DVD Region, BD Region, and BD Profile. Select the one you want and press enter.
5. A grey screen appears in the centre showing the various regions. Navigate to the one you want and press enter.
6. Exit the grey menu by pressing the left arrow key, then press it again to exit the blue menu. The screen will appear as it did in step 3 before you pressed enter.
7. Open the drawer and put in your foreign disc. Wait a little bit. When it's ready, the disc's main menu appears. Play it like you would any disc.
8. Voilà! Consider yourself fortunate: You're now able to play foreign DVDs and Blu-rays on your cheap North American player.

P.S. Remember that you have to do this every time you want to play a foreign DVD, because when it's shut off the player automatically defaults to Region 1 for DVDs and Region A for Blu-rays (i.e. North America for DVD and the Americas for Blu-ray). The "configure player" menu disappears sometimes, too; to see it again, simply re-perform the "home/setup, 9-1-1-3" hack.

Blu-ray discs all of the sudden incompatible and won't play

Look for a firmware upgrade for your player. They exist for sole purpose of increasing compatibility with newer blu ray releases. If that does not do the trick it appears that your player's laser assembly is losing its ability to focus on the disk(s). Repair is not cost effective and you will have to go shopping.

My Panasonic blu ray player DMPBD 30 does not play region B blu ray discs. How do I unlock the region codes?

Hi

The region codes or unlock hack for this model is not available, if you want to make it region free then you'll need a universal remote like a pronto remote or a One for all remote and then would need to enter the HEX codes to make it region free. It can't be done with the factory supplied remote.

You can buy a pronto remote from this link---

Pronto Remote

Pronto remote hex codes

Incompatible Disc in Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-Ray Disc Player

I had the exact same problem as you did... I bought the Sharp Aquos 42D85X which came with Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-ray Disc player. could not get brand new blu-ray movies to play and i found it froze everytime after 10 secs. I phoned sharp who basically were no help watsoever! I then went and returned my blu-ray movies back to the store thinking it was a problem with the discs.. The people there were extremely nice and since they had a display model of the BD-HP21X instore they offered to test the movie on it to veroify whether it was the blu-ray player was the problem or not. Turns out its a fault with all of the BD-HP21X models. So we then ended up returning it back to the store we bought it and exchanged it with the older model (BD-HP20X). I now have no problems playing blu-ray movies. Although another suggestion is to perhaps download the lastest firmware update & see if that resolves your issues.

I have a Samsung BD-P1000 Blu-Ray Disc Player that will not play Blu-Ray discs rented from BlockBusters in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. To Date, of all my 100 regular DVD, and approximately 25 owned Blu-Ray...

BD-P1000 Update Solution
The solution that worked for me: I went to www.samsung.com/ca and downloaded the Samsung BD-P1000 player's firmware update to my desktop. When opened, I was directed to"burn" a DVD on my computer. I then inserted the new DVD in my Blu-Ray player. The player automatically checked and confirmed player model number and registration and uploaded information from the DVD and the update was complete. The BD-P1000 then flawlessly played the rented Blu-Ray disc of "The Scorpion King".
Thank You Samsung!
