It sounds like you have a broken wire in your hose or in the wire going to your power nozzel (carpet sweeper). If not that, it could be in the insulator ( the part you plug the hose in the machine). Either way, you'll have to take it to your repair shop.

There are several sets of contacts, most commonly, the wand cracks below the hose handle and a short develops between the wand and the hose. Look there first for burned or worn contacts Test by gently twisting or wiggling this area. Contacts must be replaced in pairs if burned, replace both male and female component,ie handle conatcts and wand cord. On this unit the upper wand tube and hose handle often wera with age allowing slippage and the conatcts in turn will bun. If tehr is "in and out" play the metal inner tube and hose hand grip must also be replaced.
Second the hose handle has its own contact rings inside underneath the hand grip. Test this area by holding the handle and rotating or wiggling the hose from behind the handle.
Third , there are two contacts in the front door of the vac itself. Test this are by holding the vac body and gently wiggling and twisting the hose in front of the vac door about 6"

Electrolux Vacuum Renaissance Power head brush won't turn

if it is making a humming sound but not turning you belt is broken, if it is not check the reset switch (little res button) if that doesnt work check the connections between the cord of the powerhead and the wand, the wand and the hose, and the hose and the vacuum
give the hose itself a good look over sometimes the wires up by the grip break in the casing

Power head and wand has no power. Unit is less than 4 month old.

Hi, I had the same problem with mine and found that if you plug the power head directly into the handpiece (bypassing the telescopic wand) and it worked only proved the problem is in the telescopic wand. The problem as I found was a broken terminal in the end that connects to the powerhead (female socket). As it is a non repairable part means replacement at $100AUS I have had my machine for 3 years and in this time have replaced the both powerhead once and the wand twice within 2 years of owning the machine. The wand has now gone faulty again 4 months after replacing it and consequently Electrolux only warranty spares for 3 months which I think is poor! Its a great machine but a little too delicate even if it is only used for domestic operations once a fortnight! I paid $700 for my Oxy3 3 years ago and wont be buying another Electrolux product due to poor service (customer and product):((

Electrolux central vaccum works sporadically

The the hose, wands and power nozzle to the nearest AERUS store for repair. You have a short that needs to be fixed. They should just be able to replace the wire assemblies inside the wands, handle and power nozzle.

Just bought new power head electrolux guardian and

Did you get new wands with the power nozzel? The wires that power the nozzel run through the wands from the hose to the nozzel. The connectors at the end of the wires are fomous for getting too big and making a bad connection. This causes the on/off problem. This will only get worse if you continued use. The wires in the hose handle, the hose and the power nozzel elbow can all be changed out. You will not have to replace the hose handle or the wands unless the plactic has been burned. (A loose electrical connection causes heat). Take your hose, wands and nozzel to the shop for repair. Don't let the sales/service manager tell you that you need new parts until you can see the parts are bad. I think they saw you comming when they sold you the new nozzel.(just my opinion)

The beater does not work. the restart button is not burnt or the switch

Remove the hose and reinstall using the alignment arrow at the top of the hose insert. Be sure the hose clicks securely and does not twist or rotate right or left.
Then remove the power head from the wand and eliminate the wand. Plug the head directly onto the hose and plug the cord into the wire socket under the hose.
Flip the switch on the head fully back and forth to see if the head will run without the wand. If it runs put the wand back in place and inspect electrical connections and plug terminals when reinstalling. Post back with what you see and results

Power head turns on and off as the unit is vacuuming

Probably not hose but more then likely is a problem within your wand. Try connecting your hose handle directly to your powerhead and see if you can get consisten power. I work in customer service for electrolux and more then likely it is in fact the wand

The power head keeps shorting out during use. one of the connecting prongs from the handle to the power head is black instead of silver and is smaller in diameter like it has been arcing inside the...

This is a problem with the connection in the wands and the powerhead. Because they are shorting out you may have to replace the neck on the power nozzle. (Leave that to a pro). But you will definatly have to purchase a new wand as replacement wires are not sold for newer models. That is assuming it's a electrolux like pictured.

Electrolux oxygen vacuum

WARNING WARNING Danger danger Will Robinson! The power head "wand" and the hose from the body of the vacuum have shorts in them. While my wife was using this machine.. she started smelling plastic.. seeing whitish smoke and then sparks... The pin connector arc'd through the plastic... Some research on Google found that this has been a large problem for Electrolux, when i tried to call the factory.. robots.... no solution. Then I contacted a distributor and they informed me that it was not really that big of a problem. Only later to say, that they had replaced ALOT of them. My unit was past its warranty period so I just hardwired it. (now the unit is only two pieces, body and hose w/wand.)
