Open Filter for Bosch 500 Plus Nexxt Series

I cant get the filter out

  • Lisa Mishaga Jul 07, 2013

Fixya suggested I add more information, so here goes. I opened the round door at the bottom right side of the machine, I was able to screw off the little door behind it, but when I screwed it off, there's another part that I can't figure out how to open or pull out. There isn't a handle or anything to grab in order to pull it out. I thought this is where the filter was for the washer, but now I'm not so sure. Can someone verify it for me, is this where the filter is supposed to be? Or is it somewhere else? I'm sure something is stuck in there because I washed a small pillow, some of the stuffing came out and I've had error code E13 ever since. Thank YOU for any help with this, I really do appreciate it.

I found out there is NO way to open the filter unless it's replaced. The service man came out and replaced it, now I can open it if I need to. Bosch doesn't allow you to open unless they are replaced, I think that's horrible because they force you to make a service call and pay 200 plus dollars. I will never buy another Bosch again.

SOURCE: Bosch Washer flashing E:

John-I have the same problem. I called service, they told me to unplug it (or turn off the breaker) for 30 mins, then turn back on. That should reset it. However, for me, it didn't do a thing. He said if that didn't work it's time for a service call.

SOURCE: bosch nexxt series 500. error eo4

I am not a repair professional. I am just a 78 year old
man who has been making his own repairs for about
50 years. Therefore the washer or dryer ID doesn't
mean much to me. I came to fixya looking for a
schematic for an really old AM/FM radio and
discovered that more than 4,700 people were asking
for help with a washer repair. I recently had a washer
repair of my own and found an excellent video which
showed me how to take my machine apart. This
video made it possible for me to do my own repair. I
was so impressed with the video that when I saw all
these people needing help, I wanted to tell them
about it. If you have a top loader (washer) of the
direct drive type, this video might be a Godsend for
you. If you look at the back of your washer and the
panel is solid (no small inspection plate to remove)
chances are you have a direct drive and this video
is just what you need. You can see this video at
www.acmehowto.com You will probably need
more help in determining what the problem is and
how to fix it. If your repair problem is a washer or
dryer I suggest you go to www.applianceaid.com
where they have very good trouble shooting and
repair information on most washers and dryers.
I think you'll find what you need there. Don't worry
about the timer, they hardly ever go bad. Good
luck with it. If I have helped you, please rate my
advice on fixya.

SOURCE: Bosch Nexxt 500 Plus Elect Dryer Error E01

Absolutely those dryer sheets are the root of all evil....I would also recommend a good vent brush to clean your dryer vent.
Follow these steps, it worked for me:
1. use a shop vacuum to clean out the dry vent or a vent brush.
2. Clean your lint filter with windex, hot water and and soft bristle brush.
If this doesnt work try running the until disconnected from the vent for a cycle to isolate the vent as your issue.

Cheers!

I have a Bosch NEXXT 500 plus and it will not spin and drain clothes properly, it leaves them wet. What can I do? It seems several others have this same problem.

have you checked the filter and does the machine spin but not at full power they will not opperate propperly if you have a blockage alot of machines suffer problems like this because the waste water will not discharge due to blockages in the pump/ filter/sump hose, and if the waste pipe is connected to the sink waste they will block there try these few things first make sure all your water is discharging if you still have the same problem let me know.

Bosch 500 Washer - Can't Open the Filter Door

I did it! The trick was to push a small nail into the hole and push in on the filter door while rotating the door...all at the same time. The original problem was the water not draining and the washer displaying code E04. Just like a previous solution stated, there was one knee high sock in the drainage pipe.
