The main thing I need is an owners manual to figure out how to use and set up the functions on our phone system. We have a couple of different phones, Some are Luscent Partner 18 w/ a display (I think), there are others that are AT&T MLS-12, or MLS-12D.
Right now its bothering me because I cant figure out how to change the time since the time change! Its driving me crazy!
Let me know if you can help.
I would like to remove on ext 10 the code to dial out. I use it a lot and i am tired of having to dial a code always. However, I wish to keep that on the othe phones. I have the euro 18d system. Those are pretty easy requests. At extension 10 or 11 go to the phone and press FEATURE 00 LIC LIC (where lic is the left intercom button) #103 and dial your time in 4 digit military time. If you need the date its #101. Press Feature 00 to exit.

This is all programmed in the phone system settings. Your phone can be used on different Avaya phone systems (AT&T, Lucent is Avaya now) and you can also have different voice mail systems. They all program differently.
Sounds like your phone port is not programmed to use voice mail. You can have your phone port programmed to do many different things if nobody answers. Mostly you have the call transfered to another station after so many rings. That other station (extension) could be the operator, a calling group, a voice mail box, etc... Some systems allow you to change the number of rings on a per-phone basis, others only have one no-answer timer for all calls.
You can get all the manuals from www.avaya.com for free but you need to know which system and version you have first. Programming can get very complicated and you may find it easier to hire a local phone installation company that is familiar with your system to do the changes for you.
It sounds like you are trying to change the voice mail recordings or at least the names programmed into the system.
Your phone model can be used on several different Avaya phone systems with different software versions and different voice mail options. You will have to determine exactly which system you have and the voice mail before starting to attempt this. Look for model numbers on the main control unit.
All the manuals are available for free at the Avaya web site www.avaya.com but you will need to first know what you are looking for.
You may find it easier to hire a local phone installation company that is familiar with your system to make the changes, but taking a look at the manuals doesn't cost anything, so give it a try! If you feel like you're over your head... take care not to make changes you are not sure of because you could end up making it worse. Just don't try things if you are not pretty sure that is the area you want to change.
Are you trying to change if it rings or how it sounds when it rings?
The phone you have (Partner 18D) can be used on several different Avaya phone systems that all program differently. To change when it rings, this would need to done in the system programming (not the phone) All the manuals are avaialble on Avaya's web site but you need to know which system you have before you can start searching. www.avaya.com
I take it you do not want all the phones to ring? You can change what phones ring under different circumstances by programming the main phone system. You can get all the manuals at www.avaya.com I'd start by searching for "Partner R4.1" at Avaya and see what shows up. It will take some time to learn the system and how to program it but it's usually worth the effort for simple changes like this. You will probably find yourself needing to make a few simple changes now and then.
This can be very complicated! You may need to get a local installation company to come in and help you out. It sounds like the memory battery in your system is bad and needs to be replaced or this will just keep happening to you.
Your phone can be used on one of several different Avaya phone systems and you can have different voice mail systems also. You need to figure out which phone system and voice mail you have. All the manuals are available at www.avaya.com but if you have never dealt with programming this system before it will be a big task to learn it.
The time is stored on the phone system, not the phone. You first need to know which phone system you have. This phone will work on a few different Avaya phone systems (AT&T and Lucent are now Avaya)
