My M1063 will not turn on and is only 3 months old. Do I need a new battery?

  • Coldcyanfire Apr 01, 2009

I got the M1063 as a Christmas present and the battery stopped charging. I bought another battery and the same problem occured. Now I think it is an apparent problem with the USB charger. Does anyone have the same problem..?

I cannot switch on my Kodak M1063 (3 monthes old), the green charging light is just working 2 seconds, then it stops, when pushing on on/off, the green blinking is replaced by a red blinking for 2 seconds, than everything dark again.

I took out the battery out and reenter it, but this did not solve the problem.

The battery was charged more than half, nevertheless I put it on charge to see if it comes from there, noting : green blinking light for 2 seconds,

    and finish.

Do not tell me that I will need a new battery after 3 monthes ?

Bought in 2008 as Christmas present. Now dead. Won't power up even when plugged into the charger or USB Port.

Same issue. Bought it in December. Won't turn on, tried a new battery. Just gets warm and won't turn on...

I have two of them. One did it and I managed to get it to charge by continually re-trying the charger. The other wouldn't charge whatever I did and I bought a new battery. Now it has done it again. I think the camera drains the battery to the point where it is not safe to recharge it. Apparently lithium ion batteries are dangerous to charge if they are below a certain point. I figure I got what I paid for, nice enough looking and easy to use but not if it doesn't work

SOURCE: EasyShare Z712IS

the camera will work with any brand of lithium but only the KLIC 8000 battery will work as a rechargeable

please look at your getting started guide and check page 1, there's an illustration of the 3 types of batts that will work:
lithium crv3, lithium aa and klic 8000
ni-mh is really not compatible

please check at the bottom of your camera, the three types of batts I mentioned are engraved at the battery door

thank you

SOURCE: my digital camera will not turn on

My problem is now fixed! I put in a fresh set of recently purchased non-rechargeable batteries into the camera.

I was out-of-state visiting my Dad and taking many photos of his things. I ended up replacing my batteries with some he had around the house just prior to the first instance of camera's problem.
[I do not know the age of Dad's batteries!]

I went to Kodak's website [link] www.kodak.com/global/en/service/products/ekn027989.jhtml?pq-path=3906/1931

On this page is a heading "Troubleshoot And Repair," and I followed the link - Step-by-Step Solutions & Repair .

SOURCE: My Kodak EasyShare DX4530 camera dock not charging batteries.

There was an issue with the 4000 series and the NiCd batteries I remember that had to do with the contacts in the camera.  The charging circuit is in the camera so you have to make sure that the battery contacts are clean, both on the battery and in the camera.

Get Kodak or SanDisk SDHC 2 or 4 GB memory card.
Format Memory Card.

Sounds to me that if you bought 2 chargers then you have a bad battery. what are the odds that you have 2 bad chargers ? Time to buy a new battery.

My kodak easyshare camera isn't charging.....we already bought a new battery...and it still wont charge?? The charger is still good and working?

My kodak camera requires taking out the battery pack and charging outside of the camera. My batteries have a generic charger I got off of amazon that has a red and green light on it that tells you whent he batteries are fully charged.

If the charger is blown, that might explain why they are not charging.

Are you trying to use AA batteries instead of the recommended battery pack? I would use the recommended battery packs available through amazon.com.

Camea keeps switching off doesn't seem to be charging

Could be a problem with either the charger or the power unit in the camera. I would contact a service center to get it serviced.
