Display 11 I think there was a temporary power outage due to a thunderstorm. Upon returning home, the oven display was blank, not lit at all. When I pressed each of the buttons, none of them responded except for the oven light. But when I pressed the "secure-cancel" button, "11" appeared on the display. "11" remains on the display no matter what buttons are pressed. Turning off the circuit breaker results in a blank display screen again. Repeating the process, "11" comes up on the display after pressing the "secure-cancel" button. What is the problem and how can it be fixed?

  • ginetta Aug 31, 2007

I have not checked to see if the controls or display is shorted yet. My base question is still what does the display "11" actually signify according to Dacor. If the Dacor sofware is programmed to show "11", there must be a Dacor definition on the significance of this display. A supposition of what is "must" be does not answer the basic question.

  • ginetta Aug 31, 2007

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I already knew about the F0-F8 Dacor codes from the owner's manual and the Internet. There were (2) topics in this FixYa page header mentioning "display or error 11" with no answers. That is why a posted another one. Display "11" has apparently appeared on other Dacor ovens and is not a totally a random display. As an engineer by profession, I was asking for a confirmation that display "11" has been accurately identified and what was involved in an actual repair to resolve the issue. Do you have documentation that a fried circuit board has resolved an incident of display "11"? What component part numbers do I need to order to fix the incident? This type of information is what I consider helpful.

Did you find out if your control and display are shorted?

  • Anonymous Aug 31, 2007

You may not have a 11.. you may have just the 4 light bars light up. and make it look like a 11 . As I wrote in my first answer. Dacor fault codes are f0-F8. I have see all kinds of weird number and shapes from a shorted controls it has nothing to do with the software program. I know you don't want to hear that the control is faulty . But I was just trying to help you with the question from what I know of working on dacor..and you rate me as NOT helpful..THANKS! and let me know if you find out what a 11 code is I would love to know too.

Wow you want information about a dacor fault code that dacor doesn't publish or not exist. You do sound like a engineer by profession. sorry I will not be able to help you..

Miele steam combi oven tries to turn on after a thunderstorm or power surge but wont

Hello...most likely, based on your information, it will be the oven control board (EOC)...Power surges, outages, etc. are notorious for damaging the components on appliance boards. I recommend to all my customers who have power problems such as these to install a WHOLE HOUSE SURGE PROTECTOR in the breaker panel. They help protect everything plugged in to an outlet or connected to electricity, no matter what it is--they don't protect against a lightning strike(very few things will) however, those nasty outages and brownouts(the lights dim or flicker) can be made a lot less destructive. Check with your power company to see if they'll put one in at a nominal cost extra per month on your bill or have an electrician visit for an estimate--the units can be found online and start at 150.00 and up--depending on how fancy you want to get... I hope I helped you!

Have a Whirlpool Gold Accubake Double Oven. After a power outage, the display is dark and ovens are not responding to keypad. Lights work both from doors and keypad. Directions?

Hello!
This blank display is a common control board problem. If the buttons beep when pressed, then the control board is getting adequate power. If the buttons beep.. and your oven light still turns on when the oven door is open.. this a text book control board failure. We at Fixyourboard.com can solve this problem for you, and back the remanufacture with a two year warranty.

WHY IS MY DOUBLE OVEN BEEPING WHEN TURNED ON AND THEN DISPLAYS F1 ERROR CODE?

It means you have lost power. It could be due to a power outage or brownout. Check the user interface, control board, harness, etc. It may also have a short. In that case, consult a professional to check the unit.

My Westinghouse 668 wall oven won't allow me to set the time. We had a power outage and I have checked the power and it's fine now. But the display flashes between 0:00 and auto and I can't hold the two...

Does the rest of the oven work ok? Did the timer work OK before the outage? Is the oven under warranty? Was the power outage at your home only? Check with the manual to see if it addresses your problem, there may be a way to reset the system and then I would say that you would need to contact Westinghouse and explain the situation.

It sounds like you are going to need a control board. You can look for a used one online part number WB27K5210. You can also send your board in to be rebuilt. Corecentrics and Fix your board are two reputable companies.

HI. During the power outage, there may have been a power surge. This has shorted your main control board. This E-10 is indicating that this is the issue. This code represents a failed control board. It must be replaced, in this case. Once replaced, the unit will return to its normal operating status.

I have a ' Firenzi ' electric oven which has ceased to function after a recent power cut. The word ' STOP ' appears on the display. Can you help? Regards Norman Dayton

HI. This will occur when a surge has entered the unit, due to the power outage. Normally, there will be a power surge when the power is re-introduced to the home circuits after a brief outage. This will damage most unprotected electronics in this situation. The most vulnerable area in the unit will be the main control board. I would advise to try a hard rest. You can initiate this by simply shutting down the appropriate circuit breaker, or unplugging the unit for 5 minutes. Once the 5 minutes have passed, kindly re- introduce power to the unit, and try to run a baking cycle. If the word stop, or PF illuminates on the display, this will confirm that the surge has damaged the board. It must be replaced, in this case.
