The problem is probably your water. www.dishwasherfilter.com has a product out that filters the water and removes the hard minerals that cause spots or a film on dishes. It should solve your problem guaranteed or your money back. check it out.

Hiya,
Please clean filter in the bottom of the machine.
Even can clean out the pump. than start a wash empty and as soon as it has filled up put 3 cups of vinegar in the machine. Let it run on hot.
this should fix the problem
Also please take out the arms and make sure all the holes are not obstructed.
This is a simple way of cleaning but effective

SOURCE: Whirlpool gold dishwasher leaves film on dishes

the problem is hard water i bet. there is a new product out that actually filters the water going into your dishwasher. this i think is awesome becasue who knows whats in the water cleaning the dishes you eat and drink with. my dishes use to be white and spotty and after the first load with the filter they came out spotless. you can get it at www.dishwasherfilter.com. you will be glad you did. oh it goes under the sink and is small and affordable.

In my experience, you probably have a clog in the spray arm/arms for the top rack. Take the arm(s) out and see if the holes in them are clogged. Rice, plastic wrappers, and glass from dishes that broke in there are the most common culprits I've seen.

Hi I would look in your user manual in the section filters and remove and clean if found to be blocked in any way also check your waste outlet pipe to see if there is a blockage of any kind by blowing down the pipe sometimes a little piece of debris prevents the pump working to its full potential, maybe this will help, if necessary strip pump down to clear being careful to remove the mains lead first I hope this helps cheers eric

I started running the Hot water faucet till I got really Hot water then I started the dishwasher with No dishes in it and let it fill with hot water till it was almost full then I added a half a gallon of white vineagar to the water and let the dishwasher go through its cycle. It cleaned up the inside of my dishwasher then I put the dishes that didn't get clean and that had a soap film on and rewashed them with plain hot water and poured the other half a gallon of vineagar in the dishwasher and let them wash the complete cycle. It cleaned the dishes very well. I don't know if you will have the same results but it worked for me..... Hope this helps, your welcome to give it a try vineagar is pretty cheap... and it won't hurt anything inside the dishwasher or dishes.

I have a Maytag dishwasher Model PDB3600A. the dishes are left with a strong soap residue after a full cycle of wash. I use a powder detergent and Jet Dry. What should I check to solve the problem?

When you open up the dishwasher is there still water in the bottom of the dishwasher????? The screen around the bottom could be dirty. Or the drain line could be restricted, if it drains back to the Garbage disposal make sure it is draining. Are you using hot water??? Check to see if the Arms are turning and the ports are not plugged with debrie.... If the drains are OK and the screen is clean...... I put in about a half gallon of white Vinegar in the wash cycle after it filled with water and used no soap and rewashed the dishes. I ran the Hot water faucet at the Kitchen sink till the water was good and Hot and then on the dishwasher used the heat water feature. It cleaned up the dishes and the dishwasher. I did this on a Whirlpool dishwasher but it should work for any make of dishwasher. Hope this helps... I had to do this several time to get all the dishes back clean

You need to check the drain system completely, look for plugged screens, pump impellers, valves and the drain hose. You need to witness a large volume of water flow during drain.

Whirlpool Quiet Partner 2 dishwasher

You need to clean the 2 rotors properly and that also includes the sieve. Make sure once the dishes are stacked, the rotors must turn freely by hand.

Our less than 1 year old Whirlpool dishwasher model DU1145XTPQA is taking as much as 2 and 3/4 hrs. to complete the entire dishwashing (normal)cycle. This is much longer than it used to take.

Contact Whirlpool service immediately to get a service call scheduled before the warranty expires.
Most dishwashers that begin taking longer to complete the cycle have a failed heating element but that also normally means that the dishes do not get fully clean and the glassware has a film on it after the cycle ends.
Good Luck!
