Won't let me delete any songs

I've been using the iLo since July, and it's been working great- however, over the past week or so, I've been trying to delete a single song. I would connect, delete it, and go about my business, only to turn it on later and find the song still there. At the time, I thought "Okay, I thought I deleted that, but I guess I didn't." However, today, I sat down to delete it and found not only that I couldn't delete that one particular track, but pretty much every track on the MP3 player would not delete. Some would even delete, only to mysteriously find their way back onto the memory the moment I disconnected. It won't let me synchronize with WMP either, and I'm really at a loss.
