My HP Pavilion dv2000 has overheating problem, less than 5 minutes after i turn it on. I heard HP offers a software to be downloaded that can solve this problem,but i can not find the software online.
Did you make sure that the fan is running? also alot of people run their laptops on the bed. thats a no no. the computer does not get air and it can damage the cpu

Yes, the GPU is faulty. either replace the systemboard or reflow the GPU. Second option is cheaper and you can do it yourself. There's a link for a diy guide to fix that issue.
