If you can't get an external drive, then download a (free) program such as Daemon Tools to your desktop machine and make an "image" file of your Office CD on your desktop, then copy the image file (typically in .iso file format) to a USB drive, then download Daemon Tools to your netbook, plug in the USB drive with the .iso image file on it to your netbook, then use Daemon Tools to "mount" the iso image as a "virtual CD" drive and install Office that way. Sounds complicated but it's really not -- Google "Daemon Tools" to check out that program --

A much simpler way would be to "Share" a DVD or CD drive on another computer attached to the same network.

Bein a NetBook it will wirelessly connect to a Router, often from the Internet Service Company. Any computer attached to that same router can share resorces and folders with the other computers on the network. |

Need to reset acer aspire 1200 desktop

The Aspire One is a netbook produced by Acer; it does not come equipped with a CD ROM drive, so a traditional hard drive reformat and Windows reinstallation is not possible without a peripheral storage device. An external USB CD or flash drive will suffice, however.Difficulty:Moderate

Instructions

    • 1 Plug in the external CD drive, then turn on your netbook and let it boot to your operating system.
    • 2 Open your web browser and go to the BootDisk website (see link in Resources). Download the Windows XP Fresh Install Bootable CD, then burn these files to a blank CD via your external CD drive.
    • 3 Ensure the files have burned to your bootable CD, then restart the netbook with the CD still in the drive.
    • 4 The netbook should boot to the CD upon the restart. Follow the instructions prompted for installation. Upon completion you will have a clean installation of Windows XP on your Acer Aspire One.

I want to install my 2007 word on my netbook (no cd-space) but with usb-stick its only a 3kb link, can i download a testversion and then use my product-key?

The product-key for MS Office (Student) will only work for a student edition of the software, and may not work for a student trial.
For an easy work around you can use "Daemon Tools" which is free software. With this program you can insert your MS Office Disk into another computer (with a CD drive) and essentially burn the disk to a file on your USB drive, and install it from the USB. 1: Download and install Daemon Tools. (Again it's free, do not pay for it) 2: Insert MS Office Student CD into CD ROM drive. 3: Open Daemon Tools. 4: Select "Burn Image From CD". 5: Select destination: USB Thumb Drive. 6: Insert USB drive into Netbook. 7: Open USB Drive. 8: Open Image file; Install Office as usual.
Daemon Tools is free and rather simple to use.

I have office home and student 2007 on CD how do i load this onto my netbook

You will need to have an external CD drive. Netbooks were designed compactly and the price lower to function more as internet devices than computers. The first option you have is to buy an external USB CD Drive (this is the first recommendation I make, you will need it in the future to look at movies, music cd's, etc and its a good investment ) A very good model that allows you to read and more importanty WRITE cd/dvd's is available at bestbuy for 65$ The link to it is http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Velocity+Micro+-+VMdrive+8x+External+USB+2.0+DVD-RW/CD-RW+Drive/9341107.p?id=1218087882490&skuId=9341107&st=USB CD Drive&contract_desc=null

You have a few work arounds that may work, depending on your technical skill If you have a flash drive and another desktop or laptop with CD drive, you can copy the contents of the CD onto the flash drive using Roxio CD copier and creating an image of the disk. You will need to use make data disk and make Image on your flash drive. The drive must be 8 gig in size or larger (Flash drive). YOu will need to then use flash drive in Netbook. Find the drive and setup file and run. If you are reusing the copy and it is still installed on another machine when you validate it will negate both copies assuming your copy is pirated. So you will need to make sure you have it uninstalled on other computer. You can also try connecting the netbook to your desktop/laptop with CD drive via Network cable. If you are using Windows Vista on both machines plugging in teh cable should do a self detect. The netbook should show up as a device in COMPUTER on your old machine. You can then insert the CD and try and change the install location from your old C: drive to the Netbook. The other option you have is to contact Microsoft directly. They can give you (email you a link) to a full downloadable version once they verify you have a valid license. You will just click on this link via your email on netbook and it will download the software directly to your Netbook. Go to this link and under Products section choose Email or Chat with Microsoft agent. Then tell them what you need and provide your license key in the email or chat for verification you have a licensed product. http://support.microsoft.com/gp/ContactDownloads
