Center speaker is dead or what it can be on my Technics SA-dx930.

Hello! my old but what i thought was "in good shape "Technics SA-dx930" has a problem with the "center speaker" / surround mode or what it can be, i ownd it for 7-8 years and have never used the surround-system until now, it´s the center-speaker who has no sound at all, and i have tried everything, changed speaker and cables and troubled-shoot so hard as i can but no succes at all. All the other speakers have right ohm/impedance, tryed out whit other centers but its still quiet.but when i´m putting my ear against it in the test mode on really high volume and on full/ +10 in the speaker channels settings can her just a little little from the test signal. all fuses are alright but the hole amp is so hot so hot, and i cant remember that i heard the fan spin ever, but it have always been worked propertly without any problems through the years. until now, so some help, answers or tip would be nice.

Thanks from
Roger Eklöf (Ekloef) /Stockholm, Sweden.

More than like, the center channel is turned off on your receiver. Please see page 16 of the manual, which is located here:
http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SADX930.PDF

The manual says to do this:
Turn on the receiver.
Press Speaker A and B button at the same time.
The word Setting appears then changes to Front
Press A to select Center
Press B to choose Large, Small or None for your center speaker.
After choosing Large or Small, press A again till you see Complete on the screen.

I moved and cannot find manuel for sa-dx940 need instruction on how to reconnet wire to t.v. and speaker

The Technics SA-DX940 is made by Panasonic. The manua as a PDF is available here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SADX940.PDF . The directions for connecting the speakers start on page 14. The connection to the TV is on page 10. To use the SA-DX940 as just external speakers for your TV, connect either the digital audio out from the TV (if it has one) or the RCA audio out from the TV to the matching TV audio in on the SA-DX940.

I hope this helps.

Connecting sub speaker to technics sa dx930

Yes, if it only has speaker-level inputs it would require an amplifier to properly drive it. Name the sub and maybe we can answer the second question.

My technics sa-dx930 receiver stops working and an error message is displayed that says "overload" when i use the "b" speakers for my patio. This is a new problem. i have had the same outside speakers,...

Hey, I own one of these systems. Whenever I touch two of the wires together (shorting it out) the system shuts down and overload appears on the display. My suggestion is too check your wiring (especially in the spliced areas) or replace the wiring to the outside speakers and try it again. If you dont want to try that, take the wires you have hooked to the A speakers and see if they will work on the B setting (a quick troubleshooting technique). Please let me know if it worked for you. Good Luck!

Technics SA-DX930. I ran digital optical cable from the TV to the receiver using the tv/dss mode. It worked well for 4 months. It stopped working. I can get sound out of the receiver and speakers using...

If the only thing not working is the optical input, it is possible that the optical converter is defective. Without seeing the actual unit and testing the IC, I can't say for sure. If you have test equipment, let me know and we will attempt to track this down.

I hooked two Receivers up in series a Technics SA-DX930 and a different kind I'm not sure wut kind. They worked great for a while, but when they got turned up a little louder they both quit puting out...

you blew your power amp board, you cannot hook them in series due to impediance matching and improper input levels, cheaper to replace reciever than the board
