I assume you already have a cable or DSL modem and you were already connected to an Internet Service Provider and you no longer wish to connect to the Internet using your wireless card and wireless router.
THEN
1. Just remove the add-on wireless card from your laptop, no need to do anything on your laptop, if you wish to connect wirelessly again, just insert your wireless card and configure the wireless router again.
2. Turn off the wireless settings on your wireless router - you have to go into the wireless router configuration. This prevents anyone (unauthorized persons) accessing the Internet using your wireless connection.
3. Connect a network 10baseT cable to a 10baseT port on the router and the other in the 10baseT port on the laptop.
The network settings should be already setup for you to connect to the Internet (especially when you had access to the Internet previously), if not get back to me and I will give you further information/instructions.
OK I think I understand your problem.
You want to connect to the Internet using a wireless modem and not use your wireless adapter and a wireless router.
You need to check which Internet Service Provider in your area that provide a wireless modem service. They will also provide the wireless modem that locks you into their service. This system uses a system similar to the mobile phone system.
You need to check their coverage area because if you need Internet access away from your home, it may not be available in the areas you want to visit.
You need to check the various plans carefully as the costs can be a suprise especially if you exceed the monthly download limits.
You have still not explained our problem clearly.
On 26th Mar - you said you didn't want to connect to the Internet using the wireless adapter.
On 26th Mar - you said you still want to connect to the Internet without your wireless adapter and on the 27th Mar I suggested that you connect to the Internet using using a network cable to your DSL/cable modem.
On 27th Mar - you said you wanted to connect to the Internet wirelessly but not using your wireless adapter and on 8th Mar I suggested you connect to the Internet by selecting an ISP that offers a wireless modem service.
On 28th Mar - you said you have a modem and ISP and you still want to connect to the Internet without using your wireless adapter.
IF WANT TO CONNECT TO THE INTERNET WITHOUT USING A WIRELESS ADAPTER YOU NEED TO PLUG YOUR LAPTOP INTO THE MODEM USING A NETWORK CABLE AS I EXPLAINED ON MAR 27TH.
IF YOU WANT TO CONNECT TO THE INTERNET USING A WIRELESS CONNECTION WITHOUT USING YOUR WIRELESS ADAPTER YOU NEED TO USE A WIRELESS MODEM THAT IS PROVIDED BY THE WIRELESS INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER AS I EXPLAINED ON MAR 28TH.
THERE IS NO OTHER WAY YOU CAN CONNECT INTO THE INTERNET WIRELESSLY WITHOUT USING YOUR WIRELESS ADAPTER.
