I thought I posted my problem as my 2140. It showed up as my 7570.
My machine will embroider 1 or 2 colors and then give me "lower feed dogs" error message. I haven't used the machine much in the last year. I have been using my 7570 and doing mostly straight stitch sewing.
the outside button and underside button feel gummy, tight, resistant. So I move both together up and doen. I have put a med high blow dryer pointed inside. It woerked better for awhile, but has started to do it again.
Anyone else had this problem and resolved it themselves?
A good clean is always useful, Remove needle, and the side cover over the lamp if you can. Remove the feed dog cover plate. Use an air blaster can to remove fluff, then I personally spray everything with WD40 to remove gunge. If you are able, use a length of cotton tape wetted with WD40 to remove gunge from the tension plates. Wipe off any surplus WD40. Then oil the hook and bobbin race with good quality sewing machine oil, do not use any other oil.

There is alot of information here, and the folks there know your machine best.
I just looked and there was another question like this asked.
SOURCE: On what number should I put 7570 tention when
Refer to the manual. If you do not have a manual, start at 4 and work your way through the numbers, bit by bit until you get good results.
The bobbin thread should pull the top thread slightly under and to the back.
Machine embroidery bobbin thread is heavier than the standard size machine embroidery top thread and this also helps to pull the top thread to the back.
SOURCE: When embroidering with my 7570,
