Instructions on installation of your drive belt - this also applies to other brands as well - however this belt is only for the Technics models listed above:

  1. Remove the turntable platter off from the turntable
  2. Remove the old/damage belt
  3. Wrap the new belt underneath the turntable platter - you will see a small lip on the bottom of the platter. Wrap the belt around this lip.
  4. Put the platter back on the turntable
  5. The turntable platter will have small holes, rotate the platter until you see the motor, and the motor shaft.
  6. Pinch the belt, so that it wraps around the motor shaft
  7. Turn on and enjoy!

Technics SL-J33 turntable high speed problem. Setting on 33rpm or 45rpm makes no difference, still runs at approx. 60rpm.

The drive ic is shorted or there is a small transistor that is bad not having the unit on a bench is is hard to track down the part. But it is a easy fix if you find the service manual and can do soldering the manual will tell you where to find the part that is making to run away! The main thing is to find the parts is you find the # on the parts I can or you can look up those parts. Good luck.

How do I change belt on a Technics linear SL -H350 turntable

http://www.archive.org/details/Turntable_Belt_Installation

above video should help. if your platter is "stuck" then call them for tips. also make sure it does NOT say "direct drive" on the front of the unit.

presuming you are talking about the SL-H350 as in the body not the SL-DZ1200 as in the title

Technics SL-J1 turntable drive belt

Hello Cliff,
You will need 2 belts, if the turntable belt is gone the other is not far behind . One for the turntable size 23.6 inch by .188 and one for the tracking motor that is in the top cover part, is a 3.0 inch by .046 belt. best place to get them is at kenselectronics.com part numbers 1407-201 and AV-SBS3.0 if you have been checking around you will see other sizes, I have a SL-J1 and have used these and they work perfectly.

Problem with technics SL-L20 linear tracking turntable

Not sure what your question is? Linear tracking turntables also have an assortment of gears and pulleys which make it function correctly. Sometimes the drive belt will break, other times, the gears will crack. You will have to open her up, and take a look inside to see if there are any components which are damaged. There may also be grease applied to the gears, which might also be preventing it from moving properly.

Record player belt

Scott, the belt wraps around the bottom of the turntable platter, then put the platter back on your turntable, and you'll have to pinch back a section of the belt and wrap around the brass motor spindle. That's pretty much it!

Good luck.
