Black ink marks on prints from Epson R380!

When i print a photo on photo paper (270 gsm), there are black ink marks (irregular pattern) on the print. but when i print on regular white paper, there are no marks and the print is clean and crisp. I wonder what's the cause of those marks on photo paper.

Hello:

I have been having this problem all day today and believe I resolved it. The photo paper is thicker (I'm using the Ultra Premium Photo Paper by Epson). I have an Epson 1280 photo printer. I opened the lid and moved the lever to adjust for paper thickness, and voila––no more black ink tracks down the one side. Since photo paper is thicker, this may be your problem as well. Check your manual and see if there's an adjustment for things such as printing envelopes and change the setting. Hope this works for you! I wasted about 6 sheets of paper until I thought to adjust for paper thickness. Please let me know!

How do i need to purge the ink lines on an epson 3880

Purging Procedure - If you have just installed a new archival or Quadtone cartridge you must purge the Epson print head of all of the old, non-archival, ink before you can begin to print with the full archival effect. The print heads in the Epson 200/400/440/500/600/640/740/800/850/860/900/1160/1520/Photo/Photo 700/Photo EX/Photo 750/Photo 1200 printers hold about 3 to 5 pages worth of ink. Always run a Nozzle check before printing. Even if you get a perfect nozzle check on your first try after putting in a new cartridge, run at least one or two head cleaning cycles. This will prevent any excess ink from over filling the print head. After the cleaning cycles, use the purging test patterns below to purge your system of the old ink. After printing about 5 (8.5x11) pages of this pattern, 98% of the old ink will be gone. The rest will come out slowly and may take as many as 20 or more pages, but at the 98% point you will see good results. If you have an Epson 3000, 5000 or 9000. See below

Hi, When printing photos, my photos have horizontal light coloured lines across them. When I print the nozzle check pattern all colours match the guide with the exception of the light magenta....

Epsons are notorious for this sort of problem, especially in used infrequently as ink residue dries on the print head; try using a cleaning cartridge, or swab around relevant print head with cotton bud and ethanol/isopropyl alcohol. Here are examples of cleaning carts, there are others http://www.internet-ink.co.uk/epson-cleaning-cartridges/ http://www.icompinkcartridges.co.uk/epson-r200-r300-r220-r320-r340-cleaning-kit.html

Black marks on the printing

You could have a build up of ink on your rollers, and as the paper is pushed through it is leaving marks. It could also be causing your ghosting effect or double lines. By having your printer cleaned by a certified technician it should reslove your issue.

Black ink jet doesn't print

if your black ink does not print, there is a possibility that the nozzle of your printer are clogged by dried inks, to print a nozzle check. turn off the printer then press and hold the paper (middle) and power buttons together for 3 seconds then release. it should feed the paper and print a nozzle check pattern. if the black lines are full of gaps or breaks in the line. you need to do head cleaning to remove the clogs, press and hold the ink button (teardrop) for 3 seconds, wait until the power (green )light stopped flashing. turn the printer off then print a nozzle check again. just repeat the head cleaning process until the black pattern is ok, as well as the other colors. all shld. be complete.

then print

Colors on screen do not match colors in print have an SyncMaster 204b screen and an Epson Stylus Photo R380

You will have to keep collabrating the colors on your monitor until you get the right print out. If you're not using the right ink this will also throw off the print outs. Epson R380 is not really your avg high end printers so you will not get the best results. I suggest look for a monitor collabration software to correct your problem.
