Pause/printer rest between pages

We have this printer at work and we use it to print receipts and certificates for the surgery. It pauses/rests inbetween every page, it literally stops everything and then starts up again for each page! So printing multiple pages takes FOREVER!! how do I change the settings to prevent this pause? Any help will be HUGELY appreciated :) Cheers Lainey

Hi nurse_boop (Lainey), You can try changing some of the printer settings. Assuming you're using Windows, go to Start, Printers and Faxes, and right click on your printer, choose Properties: 1. Make sure that you disable printer pooling; 2. Check/tick, print directly to the printer; 3. Check/tick, Printer is Always Available. Please keep in mind that large file sizes, images and deep colors adds to the slowdown and pauses of printers. Hardware wise, large documents requires more memory both on the printer server PC and the printer itself. Hope this be of some help to you. Post back how things are or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

    Hi again,

If your printer is USB connected, you may want to check if it is 2.0 and not 1.0, big difference in speed.

    Cheers.

How to printer test page from the display panel zebra zm600

With most Zebra printers, a test page is printed by pressing and holding the PAUSE key while turning on the power. Keep pressing the PAUSE key until the printer completes the POST (power on self-test), then you can let go. A test pattern will begin printing. You can stop the pattern by pressing PAUSE. Turning the printer off & on again is the fastest way to end the test. This is a good page to print because it prints a large black box and it's easy to see if there are any printhead elements not functioning. It's best to use the largest, widest label you have for this test.

Hope that helps !

Hp laserjet p3015 pausing after 5 or so pages whilst printing large amounts, the printer prints 5 pages then has a pause before starting printing again, this can can make printing very slow i've...

I have seen this problem before. Basically what is happening is the fuser is losing it's heat. When the printer pauses it is waiting for the fuser to get back up to temperature. The first course of action would be to reinstall the print drivers. This will rule out the communication aspect. Then to replace the Fusing assembly (fuser) and if that doesn't work to replace the Power supply.

If it is the power supply it wouldn't be worth the time or money to repair the printer based on the original cost of the machine.

1. Go to "Start", "Run"

(now you should be in a DOS terminal window)
4. type: net stop spooler

press "enter"
6. type: exit

Printer pauses after a couple of pages

This is normal, if annoying - it just means that the LED bar is getting too hot and the printer pauses to let it cool down. Really the only solution is to operate the printer in a cooler location.
