Without the Model of the NAS device it's difficult for anyone unfamiliar with the unit to research and provide an answer for you.
However, you can go to the Buffalo website, and either download the manual, which contains a troubleshooting section with error codes and other information in it or you can contact Customer Support.

Possible fault with the network card or the connection or finally the configuration. So the hardware issue must be checked out swapping the card from the working set. Now check the settings or RESTORE the PC to an earlier set date. Also check the settings as done on the working PC.

Welcome to Fixya. if your External drive is not detected by your Ps3 console you need to format it and select Fat32 File system. Ps3 will not recognize external harddrive using NTFS Format make sure you format the drive using Windows XP or Windows 7. Windows Vista dont have Fat32 but Exfat File format. After you format the drive to Fat32 make sure you create a folder like Music, Photo, Video and other forlders so that it will be detected by your console.
there is no one blanket answer to this problem that could have many causes. It could be the DLNA server on the linkstation, it could be the version of the firmware on the PS3 or it could be the files that you have on the linkstation, BUT this link on the sony forum touches on some of these and offers some solutions
