Dry pad I went up to check the MasterCool to make sure the belt was on properly, because it was making a small thump when it turned on. I turned the circuit breakers for pump and fan off at cooler box. Belt was fine. Didn't notice if the pad was wet or not, but it had been nice and cold just before I went up on the roof. Turned the circuit breakers on, came back downstairs and noticed about 4 hours later that I wasn't getting any cool air at all. What could I have done? (I did bring the pump in and try it in the sink and it worked fine.)

Check for plugged holes in the top water distribution tray where the water from the pump exits to wet the pads.

SOURCE: mastercool swamp cooler fan doesnt come on.

Are the relays perment on the board or are they seperate from the main board? If they are mounted to the board, you will need to replace the board. Sounds like you are getting a call to the relay but none leaving so this would indicate that you have a bad relay switch.

SOURCE: AC pad not fully getting saturated with water

1. Make sure the pump is getting plenty of water.

2. Make sure the pump is working.

3. Check the pvc pipe with drip holes are not plug. (above the pads )

4. Check the pads directional arrow that should be facing up. When pads are initially installed you can see arrows on the pads. The arrows should be in the up direction. That will allow the pads to get saturated more efficiently.

I hope these steps help you.

SOURCE: water pump size and over saturated pads

Louis, The cooling does not come from the volume of water running over the pads. It cools by cooling the air passing through the wet pads. So, Yours is an impeccably logical argument that leads to a false conclusion. Bigger is not better in this caThe fishy smell is from the matting (pads) when kept saturated, Molds and algae will form if there is too much water also.. Best you get the original size pump Good luck and stay cool - Ned

Check the compressor relay (in the outside unit) Most likely it's stuck.

When i run my rooftop unit, water runs down the outside of the roof jack and some leaks into the house

Could be that the float is not set properly to where the water shuts off when filled. Make sure that you adjust the float so that water doesn't spill outside the pan when the unit is turned off. But that enough water is available so that your pump has enough water to feed the pads. If you run the pump dry, you may overheat and ruin it.
Also, make sure the ducts are properly sealed so water doesn't leak into the house.

Hi my Bonair Evaporative Cool is blowing hot air and the pads are dry,how can i fix it.

am assuming it is full of water, so you need to check to make sure the pump screen is not clogged up. make sure and unplug the unit before working on it. after checking the screen/filter, leave on panel off, plug it in and turn it on, look to see if you have any busted hoses that are leaking. if all seems ok, then you have a bad pump or switch.

We have a Mastercool II & it was installed ~ 3

The pads you need are at least 8 inches thick. If you have the contractor model, then the pads will be 12 inches thick.
Find a distributor in your town that sells cooler parts, if they dont have them, some of the big home improvement stores carry the pads for your cooler.
Make sure you are using a bleedoff or a dump pump to eliminate the hard water out of the cooler. If you keep those pads clean, they wiil last for many years.

Summer

If it was not drained for winter, do so and then remove all scale from the pan, pump inlet screen, etc. Replace the pads if they are scaled up and remove any scale from the louvered panels. WITH THE POWER OFF, check the belt for cracking and check to drive motor and blower wheel bearings for smooth operation, oil bearings with oil ports. With clean water in the sump, a good drive belt, clean pump screen and clean pads, the unit is ready to power up and run test the float action/shut-off, water distribution through the arms, belt tension (just enough to prevent slipping). These units work best when they can fully evaporate the water, so let the air flow out as fast as it come into the cooled space to maximize the evaporative effect. Also note, these unit must be level to work properly.

Whirlpool Imperial Dryer Model #LAE8800A0

these bearings are dry plastic pads if i am, correct, these can be lubricated very slightly with a little silicone grease where they are rubbing on when the drum rotates

if you cant use silicone grease, more or less any will do that is thick and doesn't smell, only use a very small amount so it doesn't go on the clothes

a very small amount is enough to stop the pad being dry but not enough to see? almost like wipe it on then wipe it off,
also lubricate the the pulley wheel on the belt tensioner (the little small wheel at the bottom if it has one
