I have a Kodak EasyShare Z1285 camera. It has recently showed horizontal lines thru the pictures and the image screen. I have cleaned the battery contacts, replaced batteries with new lithium batteries, reformatted the memory card and internal memory and have even reset the camera but to no avail. After reading several articles, I am sure that it is the CCD that needs replaced. As I understand it, this was a defect that many of the digital camera manufacturers experienced and although there was no recall letter sent out, that they would repair it at no cost to the owner. I contacted Kodak about this problem but they have refused to help me since I can not provide the proof of purchase - this camera was a gift. I explained this to them, even giving the location of where it was purchased and in addition I contacted the store, Wal-Mart, to see if they could print me a copy. Wal-Mart tried to find the receipt based on the cameras serial number but could not and explained to me that without the date of purchase and the number register number, they would not be able to help me. Wal-Mart did give me a direct number to give to Kodak so they could verify this fact. However Kodak steadfastly refuses to help without the proof of purchase. And as I understand it, the camera was registered online when purchased as a gift. Can you provide any assistance to me? It would be greatly appreciated.

Camera doesn't support more than 1GB memory card, so better use less than 1gb SD card

Display went purple with lines then finally died this year, contacted Canon at the link below and they paid all shipping (both ways) in less than 10 days I have the camera back and working like new for $0.00, these guys care about their products and customers. If you have this issue contact them and they will handle it right.

Hi,
The option to move the the photo's from the internal memory to the SD card will be in the camera's menu.
Regards.

dont you worry about that, the only thing you need to do is to format internal memory., you can do this by pressing menu button then scroll down and look for setup then press Ok button.,
now under setup press down arrow again then look for the word format then press Ok button, and you need to select the internal memory to format., gudluck!

After thre days of explaining to Kodak that the camera was a gift, that I do not have the receipt nor can I obtain it, I have decided to trash th camera and never buy a Kodak product again regardless of what type of product it is andwill discourage others from purchasing Kodak products.
